Anyone have issues with trying to theft proof a bed rack?

bought a Tracrac rack today and would like to see some options of locking it to the truck.

My first idea is to drill small holes in a couple areas and run 1/4” stainless cable through it and crimp it to the bed bolts

Just run a cable from that to the bed mat. Two birds one stone

If you’re really worried, anything you can think of to make it more difficult and take longer for thieves to remove stuff is a good thing. Nothing is 100% theft proof though.

I just mentioned this in the “License Plate Theft” thread but it applies here too; use Safety Torx bolts on your rack and fill in the spots on the bolts (where the tool/bit goes) with clear silicone after installation. For something fairly permanent like a roof rack, lights, etc, you could always fill the spots with JB Weld or epoxy glue instead of silicone too.
