Howdy. I’ve got these big ass mud tires on my first gen and they’re loud as hell. They look kinda cool but are really annoying on the highway. Also they’re not the best in the Vermont winter. I was thinking about getting new AT tires that will work in the snow but also be pretty reasonable in the summer (do y’all have any recommendations?) or maybe y’all think I should stick with the mud tires for the winter and get a nice highway tire in the spring?

@Mgscan most any new A/T tire would be quieter than the mud terrain you currently have. Most forum members run a 3PMS rated tire like the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W or a dedicated snow tire like the Nokian Hakkapeliitta non studded.

I agree with the above…most 3PMS rated all terrain tires would be good. I would NOT recommend the General Grabber ATX if you want a quiet tire. Mine are louder than the mud terrains I used to have. Great grip though.

I just changed wheels and tires on my 2023 TRD. I went with Kumho AT52 and moto metal wheels, the tires are simply amazing. The ride comfort is great and there isn't ANY road noise. They are all terrian but not like your typical Falkens or Toyos. Wheels are 17x9, tires are 265/70/17

In my opinion, MTs suck in the snow, especially on a light truck.
I have the Wildpeak AT3Ws, got them last fall. I was extremely impressed with them in the snow last year and they aren't too loud on the road. I've been really impressed with them.
My son had the BFG KO2s on his JL Rubicon and switched (at my recommendation) to the Wildpeaks last fall too. He loves them.
I've only got about 15,000 miles on them, but if I had to buy new tires now, would buy them again.

I have the G015 and can confirm they're very quiet and great in the rain. I bought them for the lack of noise and wet/winter traction. I've not had them in snow yet but for my needs they'll be great I'm sure. I've heard good things about the Falken Wildpeak AT3W, but I avoided them due to their weight (5lbs more per tire than the G015).

Hankook Dynapro is a decent AT tire. I've gone through 2 sets and really liked them.

I'll second that opinion. I've had Geolanders on four vehicles and they've beaten Michelins and BF Goodrich for milage, tire life, traction, and they are less noisy.

I like my wildpeaks and would buy them again. Ive had them since about 2018 and driven them 42k miles and they are finally on their way out. Up to the 35k mark they were pretty quiet for an AT even on the highway and have great traction in dry, wet, and snow.

The only place they do not excel in the long term is the highway, to no surprise. After the 35k mark they began to slowly get louder and by this point i cannot hear my music at a sane volume after 75mph. They are also hard to get balanced.

I have slipped here and there but these instances occurred mostly in my college town which has dangrously slick roads when wet. The other place has been in steep wet appalachain backroads. I slid out just coasting at 20mph but never when dry. Anywhere else in Tennessee has been fine.
