Thanks!! The problem I see is that Costco only had the TL not the TLX which has 6” longer lift point spread than the TL. I may have to order the extension frames if I go this route. Do you have the lift blocks at the very end of the tracks?

Another QJ 5000 TL User here. I haven't picked my Taco up with it (yet) but have used it half a dozen times since January to pick-up other vehicles. My observations below:

If you're only going to use it for your Taco, or like-sized vehicles then the 5000 TL should be fine. However if you may need to pick-up any shorter vehicles then that may be a little harder. I have a VW 'Buggy on a shortened pan and a '63 Datsun P/U, both of which are comically small and are too short for the longer TL lifting frames. I'm able to make it work but not in a way which is recommended in the manual.

I like being able to leave vehicles up in the air for a long-period of time. My Datsun spent a solid month up in the air on the lower locks. Felt very secure and was nice not having to worry about it bleeding-off or being in the way while I worked on the truck.

One of my lifting rams doesn't like to go down on it's own anymore. I suspect an air leak in the lifting cylinder but haven't reached-out to QJ yet. I'll post-back when I do.

Three or four times a year QJ does a Warehouse or Black Friday-type of sale. When they do their prices will generally beat Costco. I bought mine during one of these sales last Fall.

They're a great addition for any garage! I don't have the ceiling space or room around the sides for a four or even a two-post lift and I worried that a Scissor-lift would get in my way when I wanted to service a Transmission.

Holy shit you guys are paying a hefty premium for that minute you saved not using a jack and stands. If you could stand under it like a normal lift, sure that would be great. But almost $2K for that thing really seems like it’s for people with more dollars than sense.

If it’s a tool you use twice a year I would agree but I would say my BendPak lift was the smartest tool purchase I ever made. I use it at least every month if not more. I have a very nice seat that I can sit on and roll under the list at full height. You can see it in this photo from a brake job I did on my S4, again on first lock.

this is the lift at full height. Basically puts wheel at upper chest. Nice if you want to stand and do brake or suspension work.

two post lift would be the best but ceiling height, slab construction and other factors play into this option. After decades of jacks and jack stands I would never give up my lift!

TBH I regret not having this thing 30 years ago. I can't count how many times I had to struggle with ramps, stands, Jack points, etc. This thing is well worth the money IMO. I regret nothing about spending the money for this rig. It's fast, convenient, stows away when not in use, and goes high enough that I don't feel cramped underneath. Four wheels off the ground at the same time a major plus as well. I have a brake job planned for this weekend and it makes it a snap. When I did my cat shield last weekend I wasn't hurting for room and able to roll around on the creeper to get the plate into position easily.

@ChrisK7UND I do have the blocks at the far end of the trays. You might need the extension for your truck.

I got the 7000 EXT. It has a picture of a Tacoma on it!

I'll be 100% honest: Jack and Jackstands take me less time to set up, and they don't take up all the room the QJ's do. Dicking around with hoses, wheeling them around, getting them lined up with the lift points... what a hassle. Its been said on here before: if you can drive over them, they would be awesome. Are they worth 1800 plus extensions plus hangers? no. I'm still considering selling mine after using them twice.

Your lift looks way better than the Quick Jack. I can see in the last pic that it would allow you to at least be on your knees and completely under the truck, or pretty comfortable on a nice seat like yours. But, looking at the QL, I can get my truck just as high as that with my tall jack stands for a fraction of the price, and it takes about the same amount of time to get it there. So kinda hard for me to see what the plus side is. But I can see how that BendPak would allow you to really get under it, which is the point. Replacing a clutch, rear main, etc.. would almost be fun with one of those and a 6 pack. I wish I didn’t need the storage over my garage space, or I’d consider that lift, especially as I turn into an old ass man over the next few decades, haha.

Prices have shot up since I got my scissor lift. I paid just over 2k for it delivered. I struggle with the $1900 for quick jacks and the current $3200 for the same scissor lift I have. Prices are stupid right now.

As others have said, it all depends on how much you use it. At current time I have three project vehicles all which are undergoing some sort of repair or upgrade right now so my QJ's have been getting a lot of use. To that end, the more I've used mine, the faster I am at getting them set-up. I leave mine pushed together under a car I park in my garage and leave the Hydraulic pump plugged-in and ironically on a set of ramps I used to use all the time LOL! So when I want to use my QJ's, all I have to do is slide them over a couple foot or so, plug in the hydraulic lines, hit the switch and I'm in the air!

So have you decided? I have already the 7000TL.. and I am waiting for my Tacoma to be delivered. The costco page shows a Tacoma for the TL model..

anybody has pictures of a setup, under the truck, with a 60 inches version (not EXT or TLX)?

I ordered a refurbished 5000SLX a few weeks back for just over $1,000 shipped which I’m eagerly awaiting. Communication hasn’t been QuickJack’s strongest skill, but as long as it shows and works, I can live with that.

I need the older SLX to get my Vette in the air properly. The new TL/TLX lift points are too far apart to work properly. I did buy this lift predominately for the C5 as it’s not particularly easy to get the car into the air and supported otherwise. I’m 50/50 on getting the rail extensions and SUV adapters. They’re pricey, but likely useful as some modern sedans need them to work with the SLX.

If I just had the Tacoma I’m not sure I’d have gotten the QJ as they’re easy enough to elevate, but for my needs it’s a no-brainer.

Hopefully I can update this thread when the lift platforms arrive.

I’ve been toying with the idea too. I have my taco and my weekender that sits pretty low. Just need to figure out if there’s one that’s short enough, but at the same time long enough.

Exactly what I ran into. I wanted the 7000SLX originally for weight reasons but when the 5000 came up it was a no-brainer.

All the measurements are on the website as far as what will or won’t work. The change from the SLX to the TL / TLX will hurt the smaller cars. You can always get extensions to go longer, but shorter is a challenge. I’ve seen photos of people spanning the lifting parts with 3/8-1/2 plate steel rather than lifting from a pocket, but I don’t like the idea of that TBH. I’ve also see videos where you can lift perpendicular to the car rather than parallel.

Just ordered a 5000TL, although not for the truck. Got it for the Porsche. I should've got one when I had my old Chevy b/c lifting anything up that sits this low is a major pain in the ass.
Hoping these QJ's are worth it and trouble free. I've seen a few posts online about some issues so I had some reluctance, but it's either that or pay for installs.
Header install quote from the local p-car mechanic came back at $850 and oil changes are about 225 in labor/taxes/fees. So with 2 oil changes and doing the headers myself, these should pay for themself in no time. I'll still have the asset to sell once I sell the car should I never need them again too.

They'll still honor the holiday coupon too for anyone interested. It was $350 off the 5000TL on it's own, or bundled.

I've been happy with mine. No issues to date and feel comfortable working under it. I've got a 5000TL I use for the Tacoma and my 335, and a 7000XL for my step sons 2500HD and GFs SUV
