Questions: Rigid Industries 30" light bar kit

2016 Limited - Rigid Industries 30" SR-Series Hybrid Combo light bar kit

I visited a local authorized Rigid Industries dealer - they quoted me (discounted price) $750 for the kit and $250 to install. The Rigid website has this kit for $839.99 and as he looked it up online, we saw other places selling it for $799. He said he could beat that price...

Questions:
1) Is this a fair price (all inclusive $1,000), I assume he discounted the parts and jacked up the installation)? I would pay in cash.
2) The website says that some cutting is required... He looked at the truck and said it would fit without cutting. So, do the lower plastic grill fins need to be cut off so the light unit fits somewhat flush and un-encumbered by the plastic grill fins, or does it fit between either the upper or lower fins? The pictures on the Rigid website are too far away to see exactly how it mounts.
3) To make the installation cleaner, should I buy an aftermarket switch and tell him to use the unused switch space next to the bed power outlet switch?
4) The guy said he has never worked on a Tacoma - he primarily does jeeps. I know there are numerous YouTube videos out there for taco installs - but does Rigid supply instructions for the Taco install?

Rigid’s 2016-2017 Toyota Tacoma Bumper Mount Kit is made from high quality stainless steel and is coated with a durable scratch resistant powder coat finish. Some cutting of the factory plastic is required and professional installation is recommended.

Thanks! yeah I can beat that price by quite a bit. I haven't installed this particular kit, but I'm pretty sure the plastic ribs that span that opening need to get cut. the kit comes with instructions, hardware and wiring harness.

 

I looked at your website - I didn't see the RI stuff on there.

 

I don't have the Rigid lights on there. I can't list/advertise them at the prices I sell them at so I haven't added them to the website. One of these fine days when i have some more time and can redo my website I will get them up there just so they are there I have a thread on the deals page with quite a few people who have bought Rigid lights through me though for reference. Pm me with your location and i'll get you a price for that kit.

Have had mine in for a year with zero issues

 

Cali Raised 31 inch light no need for any cutting fits behind the fins and is a whopping 280 bucks with the switch included. Then with the balance you can get the grill from customcargrills, just saying.

 

Where can I get my hands on one of these?

 

Has anyone put a 20" bar in that same spot?

It looks good but IMO I like the ones where you have to cut the plastic!

Yes they do. However I am saving up some more money to get Rigids.

Can never go wrong with Ridgid great company. Just at the end of the day, not many people want to spend 1000 on an led light bar. We just offer an affordable option which still a great quality light.

 

I have the rigid kit. I've been very satisfied with the setup.
