I'm hoping to rest assured that by installing my newly bought kit which is here below. Its a common kit I know but I hear from different people that lifting will be fine with no drive line vibration and others say you will have vibration and I will need a carrier bearing drop kit to take care of this. The setup I'm looking to run is front struts set at notch 3 which is rated at 1.1" re-using my stock springs. Rear looking to remove overload spring and install icons AAL 1.5". So this is nothing insane as lifts go so I'm wondering if anyone else is running this and what have your experiences been with ride quality and with any driveline issues or issues in general caused by lift? I also ordered the front diff drop kit but again I've been told I really wont need that since this is a mild lift. Please any thoughts or advice would help.

2019 TRD Off Road, Tires are 265/70/R17 with Venomrex vr602's -12/ 17x9 wheels.

Sub'd, as I will be adding just the 5100's to my truck next month, and want to see what advice / suggestions might be made on this thread.

Sub'd too. I recently did 5100s on front+rear, stock springs and AAL. I put the front on the second notch from the bottom, as I have a front bumper + winch + twin compressor hanging out in the front. This kept me level on the flat and I've got zero vibrations.

Same exact set up below. 5100's all around, stock coils 1.1" lift + Icon 3 leaf aal. No UCA upgrade, no vibes, etc. Zero issue...I have 30k miles on it with this set up. 265/75/16 tires. Truck rides so much better than the stock SR5 shocks, but may not be a huge diff from your OR, but worth the upgrade I think. You will be fine. Not sure on the front diff drop as I'm only a 2x. Good luck. https://www.youtube.com/c/TravelingbyTacoma

2" in front with my 5100's, on stock coils. No issue whatsoever.

My advice... cancel the carrier shim order. I had the same worries before my suspension upgrade (2" lift) and ordered the shim... come to find out i had no vibs and never needed it. As far as the differential drop kit you wont need it for that amount of lift.... better off without it.

Awesome , this does make me feel better about just going all in. I honestly never wanted the aal the kit just came with it. Soooo I suppose a little lift out back wont hurt. THanks again.

I first thought it was an Off Road you had when I saw the pic but then read your message. This also makes me feel more comfortable in just going all in without hesitation. I just dont find many exact lift examples with lots of comments, suggestions or experiences. Appreciate it man.

Thats hilarious man, I at times carry 4 bikes so I guess the aal will be truely tested. :) Seriously though I just think the aal will be a perk of the kit coming with it. Not really planning on overlanding (Camping with tent on truck) but its nice to know I can if I want to.

Thanks man, waited about 5 months to get them thanks to covid when this all started. But so far love them and I always get asked "Did the truck come like that?"

Not sure what you mean by "Less than a factory lift." This is still lifting the truck so not sure what you mean.

But I liked the fact that you said I would be good, I keep trying to think it's all "Pre lift jitters" for a first timer but just wondered what you meant.

You'll love how bigger and better the 5100s are compared to the stock O.R. Bilsteins.

Mine's set @ 2" in front with a 1" block in the rear and the Taco sits perfectly level.

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
'I have a 2018 Sport DCLB set on the 4th perch, ECGS Clamshell bushing,1/4 shim for the lean, stock coils, front diff drop and rear carrier drop, 1 inch rear block with a very slight rake, Sumo Bump stops and the ride is so much better than stock. Maybe because its a longbed the local 4wd shop here does all the dealerships and I have used them in the past suggested it. No vibrations at all, I have 20K miles onthe truck and lifted it with @3k miles then added 265/70/17s AT2s on 4Runner Pro wheels. No regreats what so ever. Love the stance with the slight rake and I worried about switching the coils as everyone says OME springs sag.

Never, under any circumstance, install a diff drop on a 2nd or 3rd gen Tacoma. Not worth the .5 inches drop, versus the new angle the diff sits at. Leaves your front driveshaft at a worse angle and fluid is now shifted toward the front of your diff at all times.

At worse you will need an ECGS bushing installed. Highly doubt will need carrier bearing or axle shims.

Experience: I have lifted over 60 Tacomas...
