Got some bigger tires and need to get a leaving kit to go with them.
Just wondering, are all the leveling kit brands and designs pretty much the same as far as quality?
Seems like a really basic part so I would assume it's pretty hard to fuck up.

If you’re going with spacers, there is a quality difference out there. I’m not too familiar with the spacers but from what I have seen, a solid piece spacer is better in the long run. If you’re just going after lift for the look at it, anything will do.

mid you’re going for an adjustable coil over or strut with lift perches, those are all pretty good, just depends on if you’re after performance or not. Bilstein 5100s with your stock coil springs are a great and economical option. Headstrong off-road has a good variety of stuff, they are a vendor here, and will be more than happy to help you out with whatever you’re looking for.

I would personally avoid leveling kits from Amazon or similar, your entire vehicle presses into them so get something that will handle the weight

“All leveling kit”? All trucks, all people. You are using a very broad brush. Narrow down what you consider a “leveling kit”. Then ask a more specific question.

What he said! If you're in for $200 just wait and spend $600 for a mod you won't regret

For what it’s worth, I ran the rough country spacers for about 30K miles and had zero issues.

I have Bilsteins now but I think the RC spacers were a good place saver until I saved up money for the Bilsteins.

@Coaltown992 You're talking about a 2" lift in the front. I hope somebody with more knowledge chimes in about this. 1 1/2" lift is all you want to do unless you want to chase and fix new problems. 2" is the cusp of the lift height that requires additional mods
Unless your flush with cash, get the Bilstein 5100 w/ coilovers. Might need a block in the back. 1" max or something like ikon springs.
Money doesn't go as far these days read up and think this out . God I'm old!

5100's are a great way to go but I would disagree with Stuck in VT. I've used 2" lift blocks in many Tacomas I've had over the years -1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen. I have never had a problem with any of them - ever. Just my experience.

Another consideration is how much life is left in your current shocks. If their done in a year or two that is something to think about.
2" lift worked for kaljam, no problems. It's worked for others. Just saying 2" of lift proves problematic for some people. Tome $175 is enough cash to give some thought before spending.

Do you use your truck as a car or as a truck? If you use it as a truck, don't level it, keep it with a rake. Lift front with 5100's and put progressive add-a-leaf's in the rear matching the lift of the front. That's just my opinion and if money is tight do spacer lift in front and rear then. If the bed is always empty and you like a level look then just do the front as you are thinking then.
