Qi Charger Won't Charge iPhone 13 Pro

It looks ok. It has those white lines on it. Wish they were black or gray. Makes the switch useless. Good thing about that is it frees up a blank if you wanted to utilize the space. No problems with it. Charges my iPhone through a case at at about 10% to 15% more every 30 minutes. People complain about heat but all the wireless chargers generate heat especially the 15w ones.

 

I just did the led swap too in the interior. Bought a kit from a member on here. They were from VLEDS which is real good stuff. You can pick the temperature of the white lights. He had the ones I wanted 5.5k. Maplights, dome light and vanity lights. Obviously colors too if you want.

Oh yes you are most certainly on the edge of the rabbit hole we all stood on….. and fell in.

 

I'm doing the headlights & fog lights for now. Saw a kit referenced on YouTube when I was trying to figure out all the new interior "accessories" I have now I don't have in my 2007:

I have an iphone s for work, has the THICKEST case made, otterbox defender case. Charges perfectly on my cup holder mounted charger and the truck shelf.

My iphone 12 even with the cover off, bare ass phone, it sometimes won't. It's a known issue but apple isn't fixing it, apparently it carried to the 13 model

 

Were you able to wire it up to the Qi button? Also are the flashing lights on it obnoxious? Thanks!

 

No, I didn't wire it up. You could if you wanted though.

The breathing light is somewhat distracting. I cover it up with my phone.

 

Is the charger button turned on?

 

Sadly the same thing with my iphone 13 pro.
The issue is that most cases will have an extra lip around the camera in order to protect the MASSIVE protruding lenses ending up in non flush position which is needed for proper Qi charging.

 

I had problems with a different case, but my clear $10 Best-Buy special works just fine.

Honestly though, the wireless charger is not all that great. It's slow... It's hot... and it's very finicky about positioning. Some day I'll pull it out and put a ham radio there.

 

With my 11 Pro Max with case, the Qi charger won't work unless the phone is laid flat on the charging surface, and pulled all the way up against the passenger side and against the side closest to the shifter. Anywhere else and no charging.

 

Yep, same for me. The front right corner is the sweet spot. Gotta be careful that your phone doesn't catch the raised rim of the charger, because then it's lifted up (almost imperceptibly) and not laying flat, and won't charge.

 

I gave up on using it as it was so slow and I'm usually using carplay anyways.

 

Same here, which was kind of disappointing but I use the cable anyway. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with the MagSafe leather case and no luck. But if I take the case off, then it works (if I position it perfectly). The problem is the lip from the camera on the case lifts the wireless charging portion of the iPhone too far away from the charger. I think Toyota should have opted for a more powerful wireless charger that can reach just a bit farther or made it protrude a tiny bit for better contact. Oh well. I pay no attention to it nowadays anyway. Cable works great though!!

 

My iphone 8 with random case works but only with the screen up and top of phone to the left.

 

So I bought a used one of these off Amazon... is there a thread or post that shows how to install it in ours? I haven't opened the box yet & might go swap it out this week if time permits

I figured out how to get in there to replace it but couldn’t get it to work. F’d up thing is after I put the Qi charger back in there it magically started appearing to work but still wouldn’t charge either.

Ironically the videos I found (even the same one linked to Amazon listing) didn’t match how my truck is wired to connect for power on the new charger. I got pissed off & said fuck it then put everything back together… it’s gonna be a cubby hole

 

You said you bought it used? Maybe that's the reason it was returned. When you put it on the pad the breathing light should come on slowly and the phone should show it's charging.

 

I believe it is from 2019+ that they changed the 12v in the center console was to a usb port. So the only option is the 12v socket above the wireless charger. It isn't difficult to get back there, but there isn't much space and the oem wires are short which makes it a pain to connect the harness to.

Yeah, it was used like new from Amazon. Never had an issue buying used electronics on there till this one, no biggie

yeah, it was suggesting to hook onto that socket but then I wouldn’t be able to use the charger… I’ll make do. Coming from a 2007 to a 2019 I figured I’d have better bells & whistles but I’m not complaining.

i now have to figure out why my A/C is under performing on Max mode
