    Hello,
So a friend of mine has a 2019 Tacoma TRS Sport, and he has a key start. Is it possible to install a push button start on the dash and if so where could he find a kit to do this?
    This is an automatic Transmission.

I'd recommend he leave things alone and enjoy the small bit of simplicity he has.

Then it's not a sport, must be an sr, or sr5 with some add- on's. See you called it TRS? As Clearwater mentioned, would leave it alone, not worth it.

Short answer is no, there is no plug and play conversion kit.

Also all TRD auto's have smart key to start with

I love the push button start, and before I bought this truck, had no desire for one. That said, I wouldn't consider dissecting a brand new truck to attempt an install. I think it is far far from a simple plug in, but I could be wrong.

a keyless key is programed to the truck, there is no way to do this without someone just being able to break into your truck and start it. I have seen on other cars they add a button but you still need the key in the ignition to start it which just sounds stupid to me.

Didn't know the act of turning a key was strenuous.

I'm sure there is a way to add such a button. Although, the risks of pushing the truck into a FUBAR situation are pretty high.

Suggest to leave well enough alone. Next time, urge your friend to purchase a vehicle WITH the wanted button.

Get a remote start. Figure out how to wire a button in the truck to it. Not sure how you would tackle security, but there must be a way with an remote starter. You can add a remote start to a manual, so it certainly can work on an automatic with a key.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would want to go to the trouble. I was happy to have a key. Now if I could just get a stick for the transfer case instead of the 4x4 knob.

After I quoted him your quote and recommendation, he agreed to leave sleeping dogs lie.
