If anyone is using this oil filter, think again. I ended up with one of these because the wrong filter was in the box (Wal-Mart). Bought the 'Boss' because it was in walking distance. Stabbed the OEM D1 with an ice pick to get it off... So, the truck wasn't going anywhere. My alternative was walking to Advanced Auto. Bought the best filter ($) they had only to find out today, they're junk!!! After seeing some pics on "Bob is the oil guy", I decided to check it out. I went to wal-mart, got the correct filter at 6:00AM, proceeded to install Fram Ultra. "Pre-inspected" this time, no problems with the Ultra. Looked at the purolator, the "louvers" (slits) were NOT even open at all. It's been running in by-pass for about 500 miles! As pissed as I was, I decided to cut it open. Anti-drainback valve had cuts in it from from the inlet holes. Absolute TRASH!!!

Buy OEM (D1/D3) or Fram Ultra.

Yeah, I usually get OEM. But thought I'd try an Ultra, since it's closer. Friggin' Wal-Mart started this fiasco.

Check Bob again - Fram is not very good - Wix is the best.

    Too few to list.
I only use OEM or Napa Gold 1516. I usually buy OEM when it's on sale even when I don't need it. $2.99 at the dealership.

Wix is now "MANN+HUMMEL". Same company as Purolator. Same as NAPA. JUNK!

Pretty sad when Thailand can build a better filter than us! :(

If the US wanted to, they would.

    They don't.

Nothing wrong with Mann & Hummel as long as you live in Europe. Here they bought out two floundering companies & made quality control a back burner issue.
