So for the last two nights we've had some pretty serious rain, and I had my truck (DCLB, Sport, V6, Auto) parked in a fairly pronounced (but not crazy) nosed down aspect. When I went to get something out of it yesterday, I noticed a puddle on the passenger floor mat, maybe a couple of tablespoons worth of rain water. I poked around for a couple of minutes with a mirror and inspection camera, but it was raining so much I didn't put a lot of effort in to it. This morning, leaving for a job in town, crank...start for about 2 seconds, die and then.... no start at all. Cranks fine, and after I pulled a battery cable off, it started once more for about two seconds and stopped, and that's it.

It's throwing the following codes (some of which may be the result of the battery disconnect and not cleared since the truck hasn't restarted):
    P1604 - Startability malfunction
    B279986 - Immobilizer system signal
U0163 - Lost comms with nav control
B150A - Lost comms with HMI LAN
B1206 - Power Window Master ECU comm stop
    B1244 - Light Sensor Circuit
B231 - Driver Door Motor ECU comm stop
    U0142 - Lost comm with BCM 'B'
U0155 - Lost comm instrument cluster control moduel
U0140 - Lost comm with BCM

Because of the sheer number of DTCs and the water on the floor, I'm guessing that one of the connectors in the passenger side dash area got a little moist and cranky - I don't have access to my Mitchel's ATM, does anyone have wiring diagrams that they could post that might shed some light on this?

I'm not overly fussed as I'm still under warranty, but it's a HUGE PIA to get the truck from where I am to the dealership, get that all dealt with, etc.

    I feel your pain.

Exact same issue with a Cherokee a couple years ago. Turns out the drain grilles at the bottom of the windshield were clogged and the overflow was coming down the inside passenger footwell (wtf) and shorting out a panel buried in there.

Wasn’t obvious until I lifted the hood and really looked. Don’t know if it’s the same for a Tacoma but it is the exact same symptoms I had. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure the solution is simple, getting to it might be a HUGE pain though....

I've gotten lucky with this recently on a sienna.

Remove the right lower kick panel, blow out all connections one by one. Remove glove box and inspect for water damage to ecu.

Nope, especially when I know exactly how to load all my gear into my truck and where it goes. Trying to get all the kit you fit into a double=cab pick-up into a Mustang is a challenge.

On a different note - can anyone think of anything that they might push back on as far as a warranty claim?
