Yes sir and all I can say is WOW! I’ve never heard such a dynamic sounding set of speakers in a vehicle I’ve ever owned and quite possibly been in period. I’m impressed with them so much I decided to sale those flax and remove the rears bc they’re not even needed with the K2. Honest to god my JL 8w3v3 even sounds better since the K2 upgrade. The mid bass almost sound as powerful as my subwoofer but extremely clean and distortion free. Just a better blend it’s hard to explain honestly. They’re just louder but CLEAN and detailed.. The flax were pretty great I gotta say too but these are on another level in my opinion I heard the difference instantly with exact same tune as I had with flax then after tuning a couple hours and seeing how responsive they are im drooling

 

What are you putting in the rear doors?

 

I’m not going to run rear fill with these. I don’t feel any need for it. I was surprised and planned on keeping the coaxial flax for rears but nope.. these are powerful

 

If you did though, what would you run?

 

Probably would’ve ran the flax coaxials. The flax are very good speakers compared to most anything else I’ve heard. The K2 are just different man. Idk how to explain it tbh

DO IT!!! I’m going to get the K2 midrange to go in the dash corners in place of the flax evo I’m currently running to complete a 3 way. FYI. Not sure if the evo completing the 3 way is helping much on top of that two way K2 set.. You will not be disappointed if you like Focal! I do have a DSP controlling it all and have the response and curve set to andy wehmier (audiofrog)house curve which I could never quite get in this truck with the flax. These took me 2 hours and it’s near identical to his curve recommendation with a little bit of my listening preference blended into it. Just my opinion but if you can do the 3 way and skip the rears. I would’ve if I’d known what I know now with them in the truck. My 3” mids will be here Friday

If thats confusing. I’m currently running the K2 power 2 way set with a flax evo 3” mid making it technically a 3 way system. I would’ve just went with KX3 set if I’d known how awesome these were to begin with but I didn’t and just ordered them al la carte from my dealer after I sold the flax

Idk about that but I’m kind of a nerd when I get into something I really research and pick people’s brains who do know their shit and just try and learn as much as I can.. I’ve come a long way since I started getting into audio a year ago I will say.. check out some 5 star car stereo videos when you get time. They’re great

 

What head unit and amp are you running? Any subs?

 

I am running a Kenwood Excelon head unit with 5v preouts and JL audio HD 600/4 for woofers and my 8” JL 8w3v3 subwoofer and I’ve got a JL XD700/5v2 powering my mids and tweeters with JL twk 88 dsp. I would recommend putting power to the K2s they like it a lot lol. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending anything I’m running currently but you can get good stuff a little less expensive. Amp and dsp does make a difference though. Btw Crutchfield has an awesome price on an 8” focal flax sub going on that would pair up great with K2s
