I need to purchase a new Keyless Remote, I went to my local Toyota Dealer and I was given a price for the remote, which was less than $100, however the sales person informed me that if I want them to program the remote it would cost an additional $200! Is there a way I can program the remote myself, and if so, how difficult of a task is this?

It's a crazy sequence. I've screwed it up more than once. Sometimes it helps if you light a candle. Maybe sacrifice a chicken.

Thank you Krazyoakes! I'll try this! I understand it's a lot of steps, but I don't think it's worth $200 at the dealer to do this, what a rip off!

If the programming method is the same for every remote does this mean, never mind it occurred to me that what I was about to ask was stupid question. I'll ask anyway, how does it keep one remote form opening other cars?

I *think* what you're really doing is programming the truck to unlock when it hears that particular fob.
