The fuel injector cup, or spacer as Toyota calls it, has been the biggest pain in my backside this entire build... I've bought 10 total and have broken 7 trying to get them pressed into the head

I've read alot of posts on here about not removing them or "don't touch em!" Which is great if you don't have a brand spanking new head like I do. I'm using OEM cups but orings from a fel-pro gasket kit and I'm installing them into a chinesium head so I don't know if there are any "mechanical" problems (chinese journal too small, or aftermarket oring too thick) but I'm fairly certain it's me.

I first tried gasoline to lube the oring per TW recommendation but that fucked em up instantly probably because it's 90 degrees here and the gas evaporated while I was trying to squeeze em in .. I was able to fit 3 cups in using gear oil as lube but the #4 cyl just kept snapping. Finally able to get it seated using engine assy grease but when I torqued the fuel rail down #3 cyl cup snapped!

    Any suggestions?

Does anyone have the pages from the FSM on how toyota says it should be done?

I had no problems installing my spacers a long time ago. Sounds like the o-ring could be to thick. Did you get the spacers from Toyota? Maybe try Toyota o-rings too.

Were you able to press them on by hand? I'm thinking you're correct, it definitely feels like they're too thick

Yes, by hand. I don't recall using any tools to press them in.

It's y impossible to get the old ones out without breaking them. You just need to break them out and replace with new ones. Maybe a vacuum would help getting the broken pieces out without falling into the engine. Why do you need to replace them?

Installing issue with fuel injector cup, spacer. Tried all the tricks/tips above OEM part ect. Nothing worked except this. Put the spacers with the o rings on in the freezer for 20 minutes. Removed one at a time from freezer/added some grease and QUICKLY installed. It worked but they were still somewhat tight.
    Good luck
