Both the front & rear fairings with edge trim should be physically touching the body. I have 0 noise from my rack. Go to the 15:00 minute of the video for their guidance.

I have zero noise too. My front fairing is the one w/o any cutout for light bar, and I have the front edge trim touching the roof.

The fairings need to be pushed against the roof using the weatherstripping we provide. You can use some 3M paint protection film if you're worried about the rubber against the paint.

Strange, mine doesn't touch the roof in the back, and is no where close. I have it pulled all the way down as well.

    No noise though, so IDGAF

Yikes, you didn't get that from Prinsu..
I would be leery about any part of the rack touching paint - even the mounts rest on spacers in the tracks.. Imagine what happens when you put some weight on it?!
    No thank you.

You do get that from Prinsu - their “noise reducing trim” enables you to lower the front fairing until it’s touching the roof - or, close enough that you’ll have incidental contact at times (and I’d rather snug it down so it’s more solidly contacting than doing so intermittently).

Victory 4x4’s rack includes trim for the front and rear for the same purpose, and it works very well.

You also shouldn’t be putting items on the front or rear fairing (rather, they should go on the load bars).

Hmm, 4 years and counting on both a 2nd gen and a 3rd and the rack hasn't touched paint ever. No trim, no noise, no vibrations, no marks.

    I guess ymmv applies..

Mines pressed against the roof and i stood on it and keep weight on it constantly. Has not moved. Even had my awning get caught on something and it didnt budge the rack one bit. I could not care less if i get one tiny ding on the paint up on the roof though. I have pinstripes all down my truck from the wheeling i do. No pavement princess here. I cant hear any wind noise over my exhaust, subs and tires anyway lol. I think its funny people complain about trivial things like tiny paint chips or a little bit of wind noise on a non OEM product.

The Victory rack is a very strong well built product. Have been using it for 6 months now with absolutely 0 issues. Would recommend a hundred times over. Not to mention the top notch customer service i received. Im sure the prinsu is very similar. The customer service and style of the victory rack is what won me over though. Plus no ridicules lead times.

The Prinsu rack uses an 80/20 bar to support the fairing. We felt like that was a waste of a bar (and cost) when most people run the noise reduction trim with the fairing touching the roof anyway. The only reason that fairing needs structural support is to keep the center from flexing from air rushing over it, being supported by the roof solves that too. If you can find the point/load where the rack doesn't make noise with the fairing raised, then, by all means, the Prinsu is the rack for you.

The rubber touching the paint fears can be mitigated with 3M paint film under the fairing on either rack, I recommend it. I haven't run it on purpose, and when I pull the fairing you can see the micro scratches in the clear from the dust, dirt, snow, and ice. It clears up with some compound, but honestly, the paint film is easy and all you need is like a 1" wide strip of it.

That's the great thing about choices in products. If you like the features and style of the Prinsu, then that's the rack for you. If you like what we are doing, cool.

Interesting, I'd never noticed the different fairing setup.

Prinsu has three settings; high, mid, and low. Optional trim is provided to go along the bottom of the fairing.
    I've never used the trim, and mounted mine in the low position;

Prinso Bingo: look for fairings mounted backwards with the Prinsu logo on the drivers side..

Yeah, we kept one height with some adjustability just to keep the front profile as low as possible. Like I said, different ways to do the same thing.

Glad you are happy with your Prinsu

I got my tracking number a couple days after I ordered. If anyone has more pics of the access cab rack post them up! I can't find any other than the stock photos from Victory 4x4. Also I just realized all the hardware is chrome :puke:Does anyone know the exterior/visible bolt sizes so I can buy some black? Otherwise I can just use fingernail polish.

Black boots are included with Prinsu racks. Just saying... also my prinsu was $135 cheaper than a victory rack. That’s comparing both companies blackfriday sales.

Give a link to where you got a Prinsu rack for $135 cheaper. My Victory 4x4 rack was $539 powder coated and shipped to my door step...

I drive a gx470. Prinsu was $765 delivered. Victory would be $899 delivered.

For everybody on the fence wait until Black Friday when prinsu will be having 15% off for the 3rd gen and order from truckbrigade.com they offer free shipping.
