    Hi,

I have a prinsu rack on my 3rd gen but I started to get a lot of “wind noise” around 65-70mph.

So today I decided to lower the Fairing to the lowest setting. After I doing that I realized that the silver cross bar that holds the fairing is really close to touching the roof.

Is that going to be an issue? Is the silver crossbar going to dent my roof? Especially under load. Or am I good to go?

I guess I’m just being paranoid. Thank you guys in advance!

    Pictures?

My prinsu rack has zero issues. So to answer your question, if you installed it properly then you should be good.

Do you have the wind deflector rubber strip on it? It makes a world of difference with wind noise. It is still there, but hardly noticeable unless you are in a heavy crosswind.

more importantly is the silver crossbar touching the roof? That was my main concern. Not sure if it’s supposed to touch or not. Thanks

The rubber striping slightly sits on the roof when you install it. I have it on the lowest point and the silver cross bar doesn’t touch the roof, it sits slightly above it

This right here. As long as the bar is screwed in tight, you have no issues. And, yes they are loud at highway speed.

the rubber sits on top touching the roof, and the silver crossbar is about 1/2 an inch above the roof from the lowest point. I wonder if you got the wrong spacer(1 inch) if your crossbar is touching.

everything was installed correctly. The silver crossbar is not touching the roof but when I ran my fingers through between the roof and the crossbar there was barely any gap.

I was more worried about if the rack is under tension, vibrations etc.

    I apologize for the confusion.
