    Good evening,

Want to add an awning to my TRD off road double cab with prinsu overhead rack. Deciding on an awning size and wanted to ask if there are any restrictions I should take into consideration. If I'm going to get an awning, I would like pretty good real estate and I am considering the off brand 7.6' awning. Second option is the 6.6'. I'm aware of it getting caught on vegetation out on trails but is there any other consideration I could be missing? I am thinking of mounting/dismounting as needed as I have read the awnings are not too heavy. The prinsu quick disconnect is a bit pricey but I might consider it if it makes for easy on and off.

    Thoughts welcome. Thank you.

This is a treeline 6.5ft I don't think I would want to go any bigger on a roof rack. It overhangs pretty good as is front and back.
I mounted mine flush to the side of the of the rack rather than using mounts as it would of interfered with mounting my roof boxes.
One other thing to note Is these awnings make a racket being right by your head.

Thanks for the info and nice looking truck.

With regards to overhang and the roof rack, does it become a concern with weight and movement with the bigger awnings?

I would imagine the support beco es an issue I think it was the arb awning I was reading g into suggested no more than a foot or a foot and a half over hang. I'll see if I can find it but the other thing would simply be a esthetics. I wanted to mount up an 8ft but it was to much in that location.

Oh, I see. Good info, thank you.

Looks don't bother me too much but if there are safety implications or chances the rack could get compromised I will definitely go with the smaller awning.

    Thanks again!
