Just seeing anyone knows what the difference in price is of an access cab vs 4 door is at dealership and does it vary with special addition?

From my research looks like $2000 on cheaper Tacoma’s and $1000 on TRD! Does that sound right?

The access cab has the longer bed. That bed is more expensive...but the double cab has the rear seats, bigger doors and the nicer rear seats...So if you NEED a 6ft bed and you aren't going to pay for the extended bed double cab then you need an access cab...

I have a 2010 access cab and the rear seats are very uncomfortable for long distance drives and there is virtually no room for a person to sit if I put my seat (I'm 6ft) where i need it. I can almost fit a fist between the back of my seat and the lowered access cab seat when I sit...BUT I found the same is true for the new Double Cab...I tested it out at the dealer when my 2010 was being serviced...I was wondering if the newer trucks (3rd gen) were more comfortable...NO! they feel the same...Same crappy uncomfortable door elbow rest, same crappy arm rest with 0.001mm of padding...and no room behind the drivers seat if you are more than 5'8.
The rear seats are good for 1 kid behind the passenger. If you see any pics of 4 adults in a double cab it's drastically staged. 4 adults cannot fit comfortably.

The back seat of an access cab is for kids or dogs

Everything said here is spot on. If you ever need to transport more than 2 people and a dog for anything more than a couple miles, the DCLB is worth it. Think of the access cab as a regular cab with more room behind the seat for crap to accumulate. I’m 6 ft as well and there is absolutely no way anyone is going to sit behind me if I want to drive comfortably. If you never have more than one passenger, the access cab can be epic. That is my current situation, usually just me or me + girlfriend with a fair amount of space in the back for whatever I/we need, and it works great. That being said, I still wish I had a DCLB :notsure:

I don't have kids, so it is usually just my wife and me in my truck. I love my access cab. I like having the longer bed and room in the back for smaller items. Plus the AC is the best looking in my opinion!

The deciding factor for me was being able to sleep in the bed.

Personally I would never want anything but an access cab, and there's no chance I would buy anything I didn't want just because the next guy would prefer it.

I like my double cab. My first gen was the cab and a half version and it drove me nuts.

Not much in price if I had to do it again I’d take acces cab more bed space. If I have rear passengers they are SOL I don’t move my seat for no one cept wife an mom.

I drove one time to a patriots game to tailgate with 2 adults in the back "seats" of the access cab. I had to move the drivers seat dangerously close to the steering wheel just to fit an adult foot behind the seat...let alone the knees in the back of the seat. It looked like an apollo space capsule with 4 adults in there. My knees were 2 inches from the dash and my keychain would swing into my right knee. I was in mortal fear of any kind of accident. I really don't see how they can sell it as a 4 ADULT passenger vehicle.

and groceries...a gallon of milk wedges perfectly between the base of the fully moved back drivers seat and the base of the storage box below the access cab seat...
