Has anyone ever pressure bled a master cylinder on their truck? After bleeding all 4 wheels, the brakes are still a little spongy. I believe that I still have air in my master cylinder from letting the fluid go too low while bleeding wheels. I am considering using a pressure system to do that if that is feasible.

Probably air in the abs. I believe the only option are to hook it up to techstream to activate the abs pump or take it out and do a bunch of hard braking to activate the pump and purge the air.

If you lift all four tires off the ground put it in drive and apply light braking force the abs will kick on.

I only recommend this if you have a lift of some sort though :anonymous:

    Gravel or dirt road.
Hard braking to make the abs come on.
Yes, I’m serious. It’s been done by more than a few people on here.

Or, buy a scan tool that will activate the ABS.
Most that can run $300+. (Last time I looked)

I had issue with spongy brakes as well. I had the system flushed at a local shop as trying to bleed the ABS required a tool I did not have. The whole job, including fluid was about $ 90

Are you sure the fluid was allowed to get too low?

Might have to "bench bleed" it on the car and crack each line at the MC. It's messy but it can work

or the MC can get damaged and have to be replaced

OP, start with the easy stuff first. The master cylinder can be easily bled on the truck. If you like I can send you the procedure but I need to know if you have VSC (Vehicle Stability Control, some '05s may have it as an option) or not.
