I used jumper cables and gave their a good 5 minutes and tried it so I readjusted the cables and this time gave it some gas for 5 minutes and still got nothing. I checked the terminals and they’re not loose but the positive side did have a lot of blue-ish powder all around it so I wiped it down as much as I could with a towel and tried it again but still got nothing- and a little bit more info is that there are some lights that are on in the dash- it looks like they come on when I open the door and stay on a little while after I get out and close the door again. I’ll attach a photo. Any suggestions?

Original battery? If so probably a bad battery. Take it to a parts store and get it tested.

You might have corrosion in your cable down at starter or under battery terminals mix backing soda in water and put some on cable it will tack maybe 5min to work. Worked for me. Good luck.

If the battery is stone cold dead 5 minutes on a jump won't revive it. A charger 'might' revive it, or a new battery may be in order.

Gave the jumping vehicle gas, as in raised the RPM in hopes of a charge? See answer above.

A terminal cleaner and/or a baking soda solution are in order here. Assuming the battery is even worth cleaning.

Take the battery to a parts house for a test. If you have a COSTCO close, they have good prices on Interstate batteries. I'm assuming you have no warranty left on the vehicle.

Even with a bad battery the car should start if connected to cables that are connected to a running vehicle. Check your connections. As stated earlier. If all connections are good then it could be your starter or starter relay. Since it's a 3rd gen I doubt it. So probably bad connections

Clean your battery cable clamps inside and out, and try again.

You are correct. It "should" start after you leave the vehicle running running for 5 to 10 minutes if not then the battery could be fried internally. best bet would be to pull it. Put it on a charger overnight and see if it will charge. If so then put it back in while cleaning up the terminals and try it . Once in check voltage with the engine off.and a volt ohm meter. Should be around 12.5. Once started voltage should come up to 14.5 or so. If not then alternator may be bad.
