Predator Side Steps

Has anyone painted their Predator side steps? They look great when they are new but now are showing signs fading out. Has anyone painted them and what have you used?

 

Use some interior detail spray or 303 Areo Space. A little black to black can be used as well.

 

Fading or rusting? If they're fading then use a protectant spray like @mds08 suggested. 303 makes great stuff for that, I use their plastic refresh and protectant on the black plastic trim pieces. If it's rusting, I would sand/grind the rust away and paint. You're never going to get a perfect match if you paint only a portion of the steps (paint fade), so I would suggest painting the whole thing to match if that matters to you.

 

They should not be rusting, however powder coation I would not think would not be much. I would be willing to bet a nice protectant, black to clack and some eagle one interior spray in a areosal can will do the trick. You can try some Sonax german cermaic spray. It does wonders on faded plastic as well as a nice easy to use paint protectant. I used some on my friends oem toyota tonneau cover and it was faded bad. Two coats later and looks like new.
