Just picked up a used 2014 Tacoma Access cab and I'd like to get the oem Toyota Predator Steps but it seems like the only part number for access cabs is for the 3rd gen. I've searched quite a bit and found some posts of people saying that it works but nobody has confirmed that.

Has anyone actually done this? I don't feel like ordering a $600 item only for it to not fit and have to return it.

I need it for my kids to get into the truck and for my midget wife (she's 5'3"!).

The part number I found was PT925-35172 for the 3rd gen. When I put my vin into any toyota parts search it says it won't fit.

    Thanks in advance!

If you are considering spending that much for 'steps', then just step up (pun intended) to real sliders.

Yeah I saw those. I like that they are aluminum but I don't like the price and I'm not crazy about how skinny the step sides are. Did you spray yours with a bedliner? If not, you got any rust?

I live in the suburbs of New York City. I don't go offroading but I do go on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.....which is littered with potholes big enough to swallow both my Mini Cooper S's in one go!

I actually am going "off the road" tomorrow.....literally just jumping the curb with the Tacoma on a narrow busy one lane per side road.........in order to buck up a red oak for firewood that was cut down and just left there to rot. So basically, I don't need "real" sliders. I just needed those big ol' 265/70/17 tires and the clearance. :D

Ok so the predators are out of the question most likely. I can get the Go Rhino Dominator 2. I don't understand why they made the chrome ones stainless......but the powder coated ones are mild steel.

The other option is the NFAB 3-step bed access ones. I kind of like the option to step up onto the bars to get to the bed near the cab........But the wifey doesn't like the look of those.

Anyone have the 3-steps? If so, what's your experience with them?

I went with the two step wheel to wheel option in textured black.. I did start to see rust at the end caps after about two years of the 5 year warranty.. I called nfab up and they had me ship them my steps and shipped me a new set. And told me they’re still under warranty from the original purchase date.

Did they pay for shipping back to them or you had to? I like that they warranty them from start to finish 5 years and that they will replace it multiple times......Any reason why you haven't used a spray on bedliner?

Yes they emailed me a shipping label and I just wrapped them up in bubble wrap and ups picked them up. So they covered shipping both ways. They offered for me to buy a new set at retail and they would reimburse me when they received my old set. But I chose the other route since it cost nothing out of pocket and I didn’t mind not having steps for a few weeks.

I looked into Bed liner but I was told they rust from the inside out so technically it would be best to coat the inside with por 15 or something.. also they were wanting close to 400 dollars to do them.. so for that much I’ll just warranty them out again In a couple years. I’ll probably try to coat the inside sometime.

The Rustoleum Bed Liner spray can is like $7 per can on Amazon. I've used their rubberized coating for other projects but not on nerf bars.....It would only take a couple of cans to do each bar I would imagine.

And it would only rust from the inside out......if you spray it on without dealing with the rust first. Gotta wirebrush, clean, try to get it down to bare metal. I think the way to go is to apply it before you put it on the truck. Otherwise it's just a losing battle.

After watching some videos I think I might go with Plastikote instead of rustoleum. Ordered the Go Rhino Dominator D2 2-step ones from AutoAnything. $376 + tax + free shipping. Woot!
