I'll give the cliffs but I have had 3 experiences in 26k miles that have been less than stellar.

First experience is a dead battery in a parking lot. I call and verify that it's warrantied for free replacement. It is. I verify that I can just bring the battery in. Service adviser says sure thing. I get down there just before close and they say nope, vehicle has to be there for warranty. I ask if there is a battery from a trade in or something I could just throw in to make the drive. Nope. Make me have the truck towed after hours and I didn't get it back for 24 hours. Sure enough just a dead battery. Annoying but they paid for the tow. I was mostly pissed they wasted mine and my brothers time by pulling the battery and driving down there unnecessarily. I also wasn't too impressed with how the tow was done. He slapped a magnetic light on the hood and wrapped the seatbelt around the steering wheel. Seemed a little sketchy for my liking, but hes the professional.

Then I get a flat tire. I changed it out, thank you Toyota Corporate for the full size space. I paid for the 3 year tire/wheel warranty. Called Precision and asked how to proceed they said bring it in and they will look at it and determine if it can be repaired. The guy on the phone said they may or may not have the tire (guess he couldn't be bothered to check for me) Take it to Precision first thing in the morning and drop off the wheel. I was headed to the lake later that day and really didn't want to make the drive without a spare. They call me 4 hours later and hadn't even started on it because they couldn't find my warranty info. Instead of providing some customer service and figuring it out, they make me call another dealership, then the third party warranty company and straighten things out. Turns out they called the wrong number. I had given them the company name (Century) and my policy number. The receipt was right with my original financing paperwork and Bell Road Toyota in Scottsdale looked it up no problem. They (Bell Road Toy) were very helpful.

I had to abandon the thought of getting the tire fixed same day and made my trip without it. So today I go and get the tire put on. He asks if I want it put back on or just up where the spare is. Why would I want to roll on a steely and not have the matching wheels? They ask if I want a complimentary car wash and I said no. Get the truck back and they washed it and now there are swirls all in the paint. I called and spoke to the manager and he said he would have the paint guy buff it. I told him no way, I'm taking it to a real professional. Manager said he will call me tomorrow. My paperwork clearly states "customer states no wash please"

I'm usually the type to say "oh well, it's just a truck" but this is my first new vehicle and they have been the worst customer service I've probably ever experienced. I would expect this from the DMV maybe but not a reputable car dealership.

First off, congratulations on your New truck.

    Welcome to Dealer Support.

Communications is the biggest point of failure. Dealerships seem to route all calls thru a central switchboard. Always talk to a Service Advisor. Always get and document names. Verify hours that the person works so that you can expect to meet the voice on the phone.

Typical process when conventional tow truck hooks up, non rolloff.

You can give them all the information they could need, but you cannot make them take advantage of it.

Try not to stress too much. You were out of what might be considered your home territory, where vehicle was sold, and as such you are less likely to provide the dealership with future sales. There are other dealerships.

That sucks man. I have had pretty goo luck with Precision. Of course my truck is out of warranty but they took care of my head lights and some other little things. Its important to talk with a service advisor. And keep that relationship for every service.

I stick with same guy (in the maintenance department) since I bought my truck and haven't had any issues other than them not turning off my seatbelt chime. And I have been to Desert...........they are very bad!

So now I noticed that the mileage on the "next oil change sticker" is off by 10k miles.

Also when I picked my truck up the guy said not to worry about the tire pressure light. It may take 4 days for it to go off on its own. Well it's been over 4 days and the light is still on.

Is there anything they can do correctly?

That would be a third party warrenty? That would explain the dealership not knowing the rules! Normally with flat batteries and failed tires you are on your own. I invest extended warrenty costs into a rainy day fund and take my chances.

Toyota covers the battery for the first three years for free. The third party warranty was sold to me through Toyota, they should be familiar with it.

The last time I tried to collect on a third party warranty sold by the local dealership involved a lawyer, a judge and three years. Best of luck.

Sorry to take this thread a little off topic but, does anyone have a recommendation on a sales person in the fleet or e-commerce dept. at Precision that they've dealt with and been happy with? I've had some communications with one guy there and wasn't completely thrilled with his attitude so just wondering if there is someone else there with a known rep. that I might deal with.
    Thanks

i have had 2 experiences at precision. both times where when i was looking to purchase. both times they tried to low ball me on a trade in and sales dept had the worst attitude. last nov was the most recent and last time ill ever go to them. they basically wanted to give me 3k less for my 2010 fj i was trading in for my current taco then 2 other toyota dealerships were offering. when i told the salesman there that larry miller in peoria was giving me 3k more for my fj sight un seen and 2500 off sticker the guy tried knocking the deal. i told him you knocking a deal thats saving me 5500 dollars? doesn't sound to intelligent to me. go pound sand and ill never see you again.
