Anyone have any experience getting the 'Pre-collision system OFF' dash light while the system is actually turned on in the settings? A quick search renders a few folks that got the light while driving in the rain, sleet, snow, or with an otherwise dirty TSS sensor. I'm getting it driving under completely clear, fog free, rain free night conditions without so much as a gnat on the sensor.

I have not had the foam 'band aid fix' recall done, but this truck isn't my daily and hasn't seen rain in months, so making that connection seems a stretch.

I'd drop it off at the dealer for an analysis and free door ding, but the warranty slipped away last month.

    TIA

If you've had the light, you'll know the light, but attaching a google pic for reference, nonetheless..

Every once in a while during a rainstorm I'll have it happen momentarily but goes out within 60 seconds or so...yes I've had the band aid recall done.

    Yep.
Looking for anyone that might have gotten the light (and resolved it) under obstruction free conditions.

To further clarify, the light is not intermittent, it comes on and stays on.

Mine comes on at least once a week.

Of course it is because I am in 4lo though. :D

Take it to the dealer. 1 month is close enough they might help.

I've had it happen a couple of times and asked about it here, but I mostly just got the same stuff about heavy rain or the sensor being dirty. The only response that made sense to me that I got was that there are times when the sun is shining on the sensor at an angle that blinds it and confuses the system.

Edit to add: Like you, I just get the light that says the system is off and not the error message like I do in heavy rain when it happens.

    Yeah
Windshield clean? TSS uses a combo of the radar sensor with the forward facing camera. Either/or being dirty can disable the system.

It is odd you're getting the light but not the warning message...

You don't drive it a lot. Where is the truck stored? Might have a rodent problem. Or the condensation might be getting in there get some wire dry spray

I could see that happening, although in my case it would have to be moonlight.

Didn't really expect to get a conclusive answer on here, but it was worth a shot. Doesn't seem to be many people experiencing the issue without an obvious cause.

My guess is your camera or radar have somehow gotten misaligned.

I've also had the pre-collision system disable itself during times of extreme heat, or if the sun is directly shining into the camera. Both the camera and radar need to be working for the system to function.

If OP is like mine, it's doubtful that it's an alignment issue. For me, I'm rocking the stock grill with the stock suspension system and height and it just comes on every now and then with no fanfare.

No error messages or anything - just a light that says the system is off. If I go to the settings, it's still turned on. I haven't had it happen in quite a while, but the sun was very low in the sky when it did. Happened a couple of times right when I started the truck and once while going around a curve in the road.

I just found this thread after the same light popped up on my dash on a very hot clear day. My truck is not super clean it’s pretty dusty where I am but I washed it four five days ago. The light came on then turned off after about five minutes

Damn, it's been so long this this happened, I don't even remember the fact that it did.
FWIW, I never had the recall done, and it hasn't ever happened again. (that I can remember lol)

Hahaha - same. Although I did have the recall done and I have seen it a couple of times since my last post, but it's has to be the right time of year on a certain road at exactly the right time.

Ok, the extra washer on the sensor works. Put it on, drove around the block turned off first. I went ahead and then turned it on after driving a bit and the light finally turned off. Back to the supper bowl I go, watching the birds smash the queefs.
