    Hey everyone,

This is my first post on the forum, and I’d really appreciate any help. A couple of days ago, I replaced the ball joints on my 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road (82,400 miles). Right after starting the truck (before even driving it), I got warnings for Pre-Collision System Malfunction, ABS, and VSC on the dash. I figured the lights might clear after driving 100-200 miles, but they haven’t.

I ran a scan with an OBD2 tool, but no codes came up. I also took it to a local shop, and they confirmed that everything seemed to be working properly. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset the lights, but that didn’t work either.

For context, my truck has a 3-inch lift and a TRD Pro aftermarket grille, which I’ve had for about three years without any prior issues. I’m hesitant to take it to Toyota because I’m concerned they won’t recalibrate the system due to the modifications.

I have done research on this forum but I can't find anything I haven't tried.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should try next? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If I have to assume, the sensor that's supposed to read calibration is either messed up, or something didn't click right back when you did ball joints.

Are you sure you didn't skip/jump over any steps when you installed new ones?

I wonder if you need to recalibrate the front radar system. I replaced my steering wheel and I had all sorts of lights on my dash. Codes were for steering angle sensor, pre-collision, adaptive cruise control.... I replaced my stering angle sensor and most codes went away except the pre-collision

I made my own triangle reflector deal and used Techstream to do the recalibration and no more lights...

Did you mess with the brakes at all? A bad or disconnected speed sensor might trip the dash lights. Just something to check.

I'll venture to say when you popped the UBJ out of the spindle, the UCA sprung and broke the ABS wire going to the hub. I've done this before myself. A good scanner will talk to each ABS sensor to make sure it is good or bad. A broken ABS wire will throw all of the lights you have on now.

Update: Found out my right speed sensor and harness were damaged! Switched them out and it cleared everything other than the pre collision malfunction. After inspecting my TSS I found that it was cracked. That may be the source of the pre collision malfunction. Thank you for everyone's help!

Update 2: I am a dumbass and forgot to plug the TSS back in. No codes anymore!
