    Hi
I have a question regarding the pre collision warning sensors on my 2022 Tacoma. I have read that there is one sensor behind the emblem in the grill. Some sites say that the camera behind rear view mirror also is part of the pre collision system and if you get a new windshield installed the camera has to be recalibrated for the pre collision system to work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi CB
So recalibration is required when a new windshield is installed?

To tag someone here you have to do something like @team roper, not just pick initials or a name. I just happened to see this, so here I am.

That is my understanding, re: re-calibration.

I also understand that most reputable glass shops now have the ability to do that, because everyone is getting in the groove with these new nanny's. And that calibration *should* be part of the replacement quote you receive.

If it's an insurance claim, make sure it's recognized.

If it's OOP, make sure you have it documented as well.

It doesn't need to be recalibrated when you have the windshield replaced. I had mine done years ago without a recal and everything works like normal.

I believe the rear view mirror is your LDA sensors and the grille emblem houses the milliwave/pre collision. But as others stated, yea it should get recalibrated with a new windshield even if it's reusing the hardware. Would be very annoying to get false positive LDA alerts while driving straight

If you follow procedures yes the front camera should be calibrated when the windshield is replaced.
