there's a big thread about this but i'll just give you my two cents, since i went through it myself.

according to some people, you'll need to drive it around 100 miles so it can re-calibrate itself. if that doesn't solve the issue, which it didn't for me, i had to install a washer on the top hole of the sensor, between the sensor and the grille. that way, it'll slightly angle the sensor up a bit, since the sensor placement on the pro grille is lower than where it's mounted on the stock sport grille. So far, it's been okay for me. i do get false readings here and there, but not too frequent. i did take my truck into the dealership and they said they scanned my system and said that even though i have an aftermarket pro grille on there, there isn't anything wrong with my sensor or how it reads.

days after installing my grille, the PCS error kept coming on at the same distance on my commute to work. i made a mental note of that and after i made my adjustments, i used that as a landmark to see if it was still giving me that error or not.

sidenote: i have a 19 trd sport on stock wheels/suspension. if you modified anything that changes your height, you'll have to mess with the sensor accordingly if it doesn't recalibrate itself.

again, this worked for me. hope you figure yours out.

    Interesting..

I also have a '19 Sport with faux Pro grille/OEM garnish that I bought from Taco Garage. No issues whatsoever with PCS/Adaptive cruise etc. (except in heavy snow lol). My truck is 1/2 inch higher than stock, in that I'm running 265/70/17 tires.

As others have said, there are big threads on here about that. BUT, and I also installed an aftermarket grill about a week after getting my 2019 TRD Sport, and for the first 2000 miles or so, the PCS OFF light was coming on here and there. Then, it seemed to work fine without the PCS light coming on. Then, when I took my cross country trip from CA to NC and back to CA last October, the PCS OFF light came on about an hour after leaving my home in the SF Bay area of CA. It would go off only when I filled up at gas stations, only to come back on again about 15 minutes into the drive again. This went on all the way across the country until I got to the Outer Banks of NC. Then, it seems to have "learned" and the PCS OFF light has not come on again since. I complained to the dealer about the dang thing not working going east on my journey, and he indeed said that it was a "learning system", and as such, that was why it took a while to learn. In any case, as others have alluded to, you have to put miles on the vehicle and have it learn before the PCS OFF light will quit coming on and going off. Also, as someone else pointed out, installing a washer between the sensor and the new grill, will also help to put the angle back to compensate for the change in sensor height with the new prostyle grill.

I have a 2019 Tacoma. Bought a Chinese trd grill and then a OEM trd grilland toyota garnish, To no avail. It was driving me nuts! It just wouldn`t work and the message on the dash would not go away for 2 months. Call it a hunch or just dumb luck, I decided to try and bought a new wire plug piece thinking NO WAY it`s gonna do anything and BAM! I can`t believe it, IT WORKS! I`m talking about the wire with plugs on each end one end go into the sensor and the other connects up top into a wire into the engine compartment. I`m so happy right now. I almost paid Toyota $265.00 to re calibrate the sensor but the new plug worked! $25.00! Hope this may help someone else.

    Heres my personal experience..

I installed the TRD Pro grille back in August 2019 and I instantly had an error that said something like "sensor malfunction - clean sensor" and it went away within two weeks. A few months later, I removed the grille to install new headlights and the error came back, except it only lasted for 1 day. Then I installed raptor lights, fog lights, lightbars, etc. I've probably removed the grill and unplugged the sensor at least 20 times in the past year. I only had errors the first two times. I'm assuming the sensor recalibrates itself after any adjustment. If its not doing that, try putting the OEM grille back on until the warning goes away, and then try the TRD Pro grille again.

And also... If you have Toyota Safety Sense, please put the OEM grille back on whenever you make a trip to the dealership because they'll do anything to disarm the sensor because "liability".

If I'm not mistaken, they've denied warranty work on trucks with aftermarket grilles before so thats also something to be aware of.
