Hi all, I'm looking at a Makita 100Q 1 gallon portable compressor to keep in the back of the truck and use off the outlet in the truck bed. Since I want to be able to use the compressor off the truck and I don't really off-road, I don't want anything permanently mounted. It's mainly to have in case of emergencies on the road, inflate tires on my truck and my wife's Prius when needed, blow off dirt, etc. The specs on the unit say the max power output is 350W and the minimum circuit requirement is 15 amps. Will I be able to use the outlet in the bed to power this without any issues? Thanks! :)

If you want a portable pump, either get a 12V pump or get a dewalt/makita/Milwaukee cordless pump

A compressor with an tank doesn't make much sense for your needs. The tank just takes up extra room. I don't see a reason why you need stored air.

The only benefit (and I'm not sure how much of a benefit it is) is that it's 120v and you could use it around the house. If you're only using it for your truck/car just get a smaller 12v.

That was my thought....to have something I could use off the truck as well. Doesn't seem like a viable option though. Any suggestions on a 12v?

I have a Viair 88p in both my 4runner and Tacoma.

I use those for inflating tire more than I use my pancake compressor even at the house. My pancake compressor is better for tools and cleaning with air.

Each has their use. If you can only have one, and will mostly use it for your truck, get a 12v. Especially since you'll have trouble using one with the bed plug anyway.
