Anyone know where i can find the power window relay on my 1997 Tacoma? I am unable to get my power windows working. Already checked for broken wires, blown 30 Amp fuse, already replaced master power window switch....nothing has solved the problem. I'm hoping replacing the power window relay is the solution. I just don't know where it is located. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Just what is your problem??

On my 2000 it shows the relay down low on the left side I would look where the harness Comes out of the door.

    Below the fuse block.

My problem is that my power windows don't work anymore. This started 2 weeks ago when power windows and locks stopped working. I figured it was a fuse. Sure enough, it was a blown 30A fuse. After replacing it, windows and locks all worked. This only lasted 2 days. After 2 days, power windows stopped working again, but power locks are still working. I have looked for broken wires, i have replaced the power window master switch, but windows still do not work.

I know there is a power window relay i can buy and replace at Rockauto, just don't know where it's located. I have already removed and checked behind both kick panels and no luck. I've looked all over the internet for an answer as to where the power relay might be located with no luck.

I am trying to replace items that might have gone bad as a process of elimination. The power window relay is only around $10, so I figured I'd try that to see if it fixes my windows. If not, my next step is to maybe replace the relay integration control module, as i have read that this was a solution for another person on this forum.

Anyway, if anyone knows where the power window relay is located on a 1997 Toyota Tacoma, please let me know.

What caused your fuse to open?? Find that you will find why they no longer work.

Have you checked any thing with a meter?? Did you ring out all the wires??

To bad your not close 30 minutes I would have it figured out.

    Best of Luck!

I'd be checking Pin 9 (Blue/Red) at the master switch for power as a first step, looks like the relay you are looking for is a solid state module that is turned on by power from the Gauge Fuse (10A) and powered by the Power Fuse (30A).
    From the FSM:
    DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
System components consist of a power main relay, door lock control relay, integration relay, power window switches and power window motors for each door. With ignition switch in ON position, battery voltage is supplied through power main relay or door lock control relay to power window switches. Power window switch supplies power and ground for power window motors.

Driver's side power window switch offers one-touch operation of driver's side window. Driver's side power window switch also includes a lock-out feature to prevent passengers from operating any of the other power window switches.

Idk much about the electrical systems in 1st gens but in service info it says some models have a power relay and some have a door lock/integration relay, I'm guessing models without power locks just have the power relay?

The diagram for the 2000 model looks like they still use the integration relay/module but also added a power window relay.

Update: It's January, 2023 now and my power windows are still not working. Waited 3 months to get a replacement Toyota Tacoma Integration Control Relay (82641-35130) as someone with an identical problem to me suggested in another post. For him, that solved his problem. For me, it did not. I have no clue what is causing my problem, still. Any help would be appreciated.

    In response to Bivouac:

    1. Yes, windows worked
    2. No, i'm not a pro at this stuff....not even sure what you're referring to or how I could use the info
    3. Both window motors work as I had someone come over and supply power to them manually and roll them up as they had stopped working while windows were down. No mechanical problem to the regulators.
    4. Windows are not propped up off the track.
    5. Master switch doesn't seem to be the problem as I bought a new one initially when i thought that might be the problem. New Master switch would not raise the windows either.
    6. I have not Ohmed out every wire....wouldn't know how to do that....as I said, i'm not a pro
    7. I'm in deep south Texas

One more thing......I initially wanted to replace the power window relay, as Rockauto sells one for my specific truck. I was just never able to figure out where it is located. If anyone can tell me that, I can at least replace it to see if that fixes my problem.

Check to see if you have power coming into the switch on the blue and red wire with key on with test light on volt meter. Start with that first. The door lock control relay referenced in the diagram doesn't look like a regular relay. It's bigger about the same save as an al-toid breath mint can. See attached pdf

    Update: PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!

Turns out the problem was my Door Control (85980-35050).....turns out this device also controls the power windows!!

I decided to look at some photos I had taken when trying to figure out what my problem could be. The RED ARROW shows what I found......a broken pin! I decided to try to solder it.....SUCCESS! So after 6 months, i'm finally able to roll my windows up and down.

I'm hoping this thread helps someone else out and saves someone all the time I wasted not being able to control my windows. I'm including photos. Thank you to everyone who responded to my posts and tried to help me!

Bringing this back to life. Have the same problem in my 2012 DC. Driver side door controls don't work. No window controls work, but passenger power lock control works so not a relay or fuse issue (checked a couple fuses too)

Where is that Door Control module located?

2012 is completely different from a 97, there is no Door Control Module on a 2012.
