From the bay. I did it on mine. Just spray the joint, then turn the steering wheel roughly 1/5th turn. Spray. Turn. Repeat until you went around one full turn of the joint.

It is possible I suppose to go through the fender but it's just making more work than needed as you'll have a good shot from the top.

Yes, but not the whole bottle. Maybe start with a quarter at a time and not put more than half.

I was also in the "bugger-ed up" U joint at 9 years on a 2013 model, although mine was the lumpy feeling not just all or nothing. P-oil also did the trick, but then I slobbered on grease after a few days of drying to try to prevent it from going bad again in the future. I like grease....

What kind of grease? I lubricated mine with penetrating oil this morning and it’s already loosing some of its effect. I will spray some more on it this afternoon.

Edit to add: If you're still spraying, try to rotate fully lock to lock before you consider being done - any small loose bits may work themselves out of the way before applying grease.

It was probably the white lith in a spray can, since I could do that without having to get my hand down there to schmutz it on manually. It will also travel a bit into the joint before setting up. Apply liberally, just expect it to drip off a little. Also do as above - spray and rotate a bit, respray,... until you think you got it covered all around. Someone else may suggest an alternate lube?? I just didn't think about it too much and applied. Seemed to go good for me.

I'd really check the cans - probably not good to do any sprays near the engine exhausts while hot. You may get -->:bananadead:

Definitely hit it some more. Then take it for a drive and see how that goes.

I wasn't down any steering fluid so my issue was only the shaft.

So, remove one word from your statement and it seems to take on a whole new unrelated meaning....

    Oooh, got me there!! Haha..

But seriously, I had originally surmised it to be a steering pump issue without digging in..especially as it mimicked my dad's old Chevy Citation that I learned to drive on.
