How often should the power steering fluid be changed(flushed)?

I've never done it on any of my vehicles. As long as it doesn't get contaminated it should be good for a long time. I guess it couldn't hurt to change it every few years.

Just like brake fluid 3-5 years depending how much you driving and were you living.
If you live in humid place like Florida I would do both every 3 years. if you live in Alaska or Arizona and avoid streams 5 years should be enough.

BTW its cheaper to replace brake fluid or ATF for power steering than power steering pump, or master cylinder.

Never changed it in any of my vehicles either. However, I am of the same mindset as BlueT....it's better to replace the fluid than replace the part it damages...

I would change it if it looks bad, but otherwise leave it.

As power steering fluid gets older it breaks down just like any other fluid. As it breaks down you get little particules that can build up in the system that over time will eat away at the seals.

Power steering is a system that is often overlooked in routine maintenance. But, imagine how driving would be without it! Over time, power steering fluid degrades. When this happens, steering is noticeably more difficult. Fluid contamination is the leading cause of component wear in power steering systems. Debris from component wear becomes suspended in the power steering fluid.

I would do it every 30-50k. Its not that expensive. On the flip side a rack is.

Trans I would do a complete fluid exchange/flush every 30k
