Finished(?) with power folding mirror mod. Bought parts kit from KTJO4x4.com 360 cam complicates things (Adds 6 wires per mirror, and the plug can't be split to slide through the center of the hinge. Used butt splices). Second mirror mod (adding motor) was easier, but still tedious. Everything works (turn signals, mirror adjuster, BSM, heater). Only issue is that the fold switch works backwards. Everything is plug n play, so I wonder if the firmware in the small electronic module included as part of the system has something going on inside. I reached out to KTJO, and will await a response before I start looking at things. I could do without the 'auto' feature that folds the mirrors when you lock the truck with the key fob, but it's included with the kit. Not sure if the ROI is worth the work.

You could've de-pinned the connector instead BUTT splicing the wires...:burp:
Also, if all that is required is adding 2 wires for the folding motor, why mess with the OEM connector to the mirror?

I would love to see a proper tool for depinning these small connectors.

You have to disassemble the mirror at the hinge to add the motor. Actually disassemble pretty much the whole mirror.
I suspect depinning and reassembling the plugs would be much more work, and tools weren't available.

If you have the mirrors unfolded do you have much up/down play? Both of mine are so loose I feel like they are going to fall off. I can’t remember the install and didn’t see anything obvious when I popped the cover off.

I vaguely remember having to tighten something but looked at the instructions and didn’t see anything.

Be thankful what you bought actually showed up. Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to get back to you.

My auto switch is what I leave it on, so they fold every time. The switch works fine, but I had a problem with the direction adjustment being reversed. :notsure: I have a 19, so no trail cameras in the mirrors.

The original controller is made for right side driving...still having issues with assembly of parts and quality check before delivery to customer...:anonymous:

It's fine because I'm dyslexic and ambidextrous, so the reverse mirror control doesn't bother me. :D

It's DC, so will reversing polarity on the fold motor leads work, or am I missing something? I haven't replaced all of the trim while I'm waiting for a response from KTJO. It would be easy to flop the output leads. Why would left or right drive matter? My switch has pictograms of the mirrors open and folded. Mine works backwards even in auto. The mirrors fold when the truck is unlocked with the fob. I suspect KTJO has someone in-house who has only a passing knowledge of writing software. An alternative to butt splices or trying to depin the connector is to obtain new empty connectors, pins, and a crimp tool. It would be tedious, but with the right tools and parts, doable. Where I worked in the 90s, we added pins to Amphenol connectors. Used a cheap crimp tool from Radio Shak.

Update--Customer service has been nonexistent. Everything was reversed (auto and manual modes), so reversing motor leads made everything work correctly. I suspect that while writing program for controller, someone got fold/unfold commands reversed. It would've been nice if the wires to the inline fuse had been long enough to leave the fuse holder right under the window/mirror switch panel, but I hope I'm not blowing fuses on a regular basis.

KTJO4x4.com are magicians. They are great at making any sort of contact after taking your money completely disappear. Glad you got it worked out and hopefully it will be trouble free from now on.

So…those of you with this mod. Are your mirrors pretty tight? Mine are so floppy it’s almost like they are going to fall off. I checked the instructions and not sure what I could have done wrong.

Of course I emailed them and never heard back…

Mine are tight folded and unfolded. Did you align the pin underside mirror base, before drilling the 3 holes? This keeps the mirror to rotate to proper position.
