Before spending the money on powder coat, what about plasti-dipping them to see if you like them? Cheaper and if you apply enough coats, easy to remove.

    this and that...
i always thought the sports powdercoated black always looked pretty slick, mainly cause it makes the wheel uniform with no contrast.

You could buy new wheels for the same price as powder coating the oem ones

That's what I was thinking too. I'd just take the money from coating the wheels ($3-400) and just put towards a new set of black wheels in a lower offset.

There are some thread and photos on here of rattle can applications that look great. Much cheaper and easy to maintain if needed. Cost to powder is like others said, ~$400 or so.

I don’t remember who posted this pic, would like to give them credit but I saved it on my iPad. These are rattle can painted and look great.

EDIT: here is the link for @dal3_gribble step by step process for the wheels

This would have saved me money but instead made an impulsive purchase and bought some SCS.

At least with powder coated you can pick the exact color within a color that you want. If I remember correctly there was 184 shades of grey. Probably almost that many in black too I would bet.

Update: There are 246 shades of grey.

    Aren't there 50 shades of..:ballchain:.:anonymous:

Seriously though, aren't all shades of gray just shades of black?

Edit: I stand corrected. Black is a shade of gray...

No, no, no, no! They cannot be matte black. Bert just told us that black is a shade of gray so those wheels are matte shade of gray. Settled!

    they look very nice.

I would let the fronts get really dirty with brake dust and have them match that color

It’s not hard to refinish wheels but use a legit automotive clear if you do it yourself.
