Is powder coat worth it? Should I just spray paint cause it's cheap and easy to repair scratches?

I wouldn't powder coat anything on my truck, but that's because I know it'll be a waste of money when it gets bumped or scratched by a tree, rock, etc. Spray paint works just well, looks just as good most of the time and is way cheaper and easier to touch up.

If your truck is mostly just for show (nothing wrong with that), then powder coating the skid plate could be worth the money if it means that much. But if you intend to use your skid plate for protection against elements offroad, I would not waste money on powder coating it or anything else for that matter

We talking the stock tin can skid plate or an aftermarket one?

I'd spray it. Its called a skid plate for a reason and PC doesn't really repair. Rustoleum bedliner works really well.

Paint then Fluid Film unless it's a Mall Crawling show truck.
Do those even exist in Louisiana?

yeah spray paint will be fine. Use a self etching primer first then hit it with a couple layers of spray paint, will look great

I bought the one that Ethan is selling on 1st gen forum. It's stainless, but I was thinking it might still rust. I'd probly prefer to leave it raw if it won't rust for sure.

Spray paint. Unless you're gonna take it off and re powdercoat it every time it gets scratched why not just use the same paint that you're going to touch it up with?

If you will wheel it AT ALL just spray paint it or leave it bare metal and let nature do its thing.
