Potential system for my truck - Comments?

Just looking for incompatibilities or conflicts in the potential system.

Constaints:
'06 Access Cab
Limited budget
DIY install

Wants:
NAV
Android Compatibility
Clear sound, no need to rattle the windows or tailgate with volume or heavy bass.
Sound deaden the doors and rear wall.
Use OEM wiring.

Initial Component Choices:

$749 Kenwood DNR476S KENWOOD DNR-476S 6.8" Car Stereo, Garmin Navigation Built in, Inrix Traffic Service, CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, (Does Not Play DVD's)

Kenwood DNR476S with Metra harness
Scorsch 2 DIN trim
Icespring USB mount. This will replace the Cig lighter to run the USB to the front of the dashboard
Pioneer TS-A692C (front speakers)
Kenwood KFC-1796PS (rear speakers)
Noico 80 mil mat for doors and rear wall.

All in about $1000


I'm a product of Rock & Roll from the '70s. Particular to Queen, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Boston, Styxs, Kansas, CCR, Throughgood, Meatloaf...... and similar.

Currently, I'm enduring the OEM CD system. While it works, the sound is muddy and CDs are scarce. Also, rolling around trying to read city map to find the next address for home inspection is a bit clumsy.

So, do the above component selections appear reasonable for my wants and constraints?
I'm not very knowledgeable in audio.

This is my current plan. Now, just need the budget to catch up with the plan.

 

I think that will be pretty decent for a basic upgrade. I’m curious about why you chose the Kenwood 6.75” rears over a complimentary pair of Pioneers though.

 

Reasonable question.

I originally wanted the Pioneer, but speaking with the Crutchfeild folks. They said the Pioneers (TS-652F) had too much mount height (0.739 inch) to clear the rear door panel. They suggested these Kenwoods as a sub, mount height (0.22 inch).

In truth, I'd prefer the Pioneer TS-652F for the rear doors to match the front components.

Do you know if the Pioneer TS-652F will clear the rear door panel in an Access cab?

 

I’ve learned that they say tons of speakers do not fit that actually do fit. I’m not sure where they got their measurements, but they seem to be off for the Tacoma’s. I’m better the pioneers would fit.

I'll stick with the Kenwoods for the rear doors. Just too much difference in the mounting height to risk the clusterF with sending stuff back that doesn't fit and waiting for the replacements. Currently, the cost difference is $9 out of a $1000 project. Not worth the hassle.

Both the Pioneer (TS-652F) and the Kenwood (KFC-1796PS) have nearly the same performance specs. I'm doubtful if my ear can detect any difference between the two.
