Possible totaled brand new 2019 Toyota Tacoma!

Did a quick quote for the parts I think the truck will need (see below), about $23,000 in parts if they don't repair any panels and don't use any aftermarket or used parts. The truck is probably worth around $38,000, so that leaves somewhere in the $6,000-10,000 range for labour, which seems relatively reasonable.

Would love to see an update on what the insurance company does, but it could be repaired in my opinion.

I didnt read all of it, but did you account for the TSS sensors? and the costs to recalibrate them.....i just had to have my BSM recalibrated to the tune of $273, just for the calibration.

 

Picture 1 and 2 show the grille and emblem intact, so the TSS sensor should be fine, ditto for the camera on the windshield. Recalibration would be a labour item if required, but assuming the same sensor is reused (it should be), recalibration should not be required.

If insurance estimates could be done over a forum from 3 photos, adjusters would be out of a job. That being said, a lot of the people in this thread have no idea what they are talking about. Nothing is an "automatic total." Airbags deployed, rollover, frame damage can all be repaired, and insurance companies do it regularly. Pretty much the only determining factor in totaling a car is if the cost of repairs(and chance of future repairs) is more than the payout for totaling(or whatever percentage they have set). That's it. Considering its a brand new ~$35k truck, you can repair a lot for 70%. I wouldn't be surprised if they total it, but also wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to repair.

 

I don't see a slow speed roll over causing a bent frame, but that is the least of your worries. If it isn't totaled, you have a very optimistic estimator.

 

Did the same in my last 1st gen and it was 12k for the fender to bedside. Couldn't imagine the cost involved on a newer truck. I vote shes a goner. OP glad you are ok, the truck can be replaced.

Adjuster just called, truck is totalled! Got good news. Said we will get everything we paid for it..down payment, tax license, everything. We put a lot down so that was stressing me out!

 

Great news. You're ok, your investment is safe and you get to buy another new truck..... Woooo Hoooo…. 2 new Tacos in a month!

 

Buy that truck back from insurnce and drop it off to get a roll cage, full fiberglass and long travel.

Yep, I hear them sum biches are expensive. On the other hand it sounds like the truck did a good job of protecting you from serious injury. They will make more trucks. Unless you have a twin there's only one of you!
