I searched all over regarding this question, but I couldn't find any answers.

I own a 2017 TRD OR and purchased SCP F5 16x8 wheels with a -25mm off set, 3.5" backspacing. How would I deal with the extra 1.5" - 2" positive scrub radius? Everything that I'm seeing is telling me that I should cancel my order and probably pick out a different wheel, yet I do want my tires to poke out a bit, resulting in a better stance. I've seen other trucks on this site that accomplish the look, but is that much positive scrub radius that big of a deal?

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Larger scrub radius will result in greater wear of parts.
    Here's a good explanation

Did you ever get answers on this? Are you keeping the wheels? I’m going with the TRD Pro 4Runner wheels that so many do on here. Wondering if scrub radius is an issue with these wheels as well? I’d imagine not if so many run them.

    Really, really, tall tires...:D

You can compensate, somewhat, with a custom alignment.

I’m assuming this is only necessary when it’s a considerable offset like OP’s -25 (and not the popular TRD Pro 4runners at only +4) compared to stock?

    On that rim...
265/70 would add 3/4" of positive scrub.
285/70 would add 1/2" of positive scrub.
Stock has maybe 1/8" of positive scrub.

I think you guys are getting too far in the weeds. It's pretty academic until you go way off.

    On what rim, the -25?

    The 4runner Pro wheels...
It's about 1.75"-2" on an 16x8 -25mm, depending on tire size.

Sorry, confused here. What measurement is 1.75-2"? I've heard with the 4mm offset, opposed to the stock 25... it pushes the wheel out 21mm more than stock.

EDIT: oh i think i got it... you were saying the 1.75-2" positive scrub was on the -25 wheel in OP's example as opposed to the 3/4" positive scrub on the 4runner wheels.

    Yes, a 17x7" +4mm would push it out 21mm compared to a 16x7 +25mm.

OP is talking about a 16x8 -25mm; the rim gets pushed out 2.5" and the tire is pushed out 2", compared to a 16x7 +25mm.
You can't corelate offset to poke when comparing two different rim widths.

The 1.75"-2" measurement, is additional positive scrub radius. It's how far the centerline of tire moves outside of the steering axis iclination (SAI).

2" of positive scrub a 1500% increase is not way off?

And that 1.75-2” measurement is on the -25, correct? Would you say the 4mm offset 4Runner wheel is a lot safer/more efficient to run?

Damn y'all are over thinking this. OP if you haven't already decided, keep the wheels. Just be prepared that you will rub more so be prepared to cut and hammer some stuff out of the way to get them to clear the cab mount and pinch weld.

Yes it is. I did mis-read the OP. The OP, by his post, does understand the effect of the gross change to the scrub and probably any detrimental effect of steering all for looks. Usually when talking about scrub radius the topic is handling on the track. This is a lot even though it's just a pickup truck. Sorry.

Well...it's only about a 300-500% increase, depending on tire height
Whatever you're comfortable with I guess.
Safer in a lifted wehicle means increased track width, regardless of what it does to scrub radius.

I would recommend using +0.50 camber and +0.05 to +0.08 toe to help compensate for it, though.

Thanks. I’m pretty sure most people do not do those adjustments when going aftermarket? For instance, for people who upgrade say to only the 16” pro taco wheels that have an offset of 13 instead of stock 25... they should do adjustment too? Just seems most don’t do this stuff or don’t find it a need?

Depending on deviation from norm, it will handle differently. From really vague to twitchy depending.

The Toyota part system says the 16” pro wheels will fit other Tacoma’s, so I’m assuming they wouldn’t say it fit if you had to make camber and toe adjustments. Do people here make these kind of adjustments when getting new wheels that have smaller offset differences?
