Very little info on this, 'cept for these photo's. I gotta do some homework!

I see a lot of highly vulnerable parts....Probably NOT the best setup for hard off roading, but a very interesting concept

I think I see "TIBUS" engraved in the last picture, which led to these guys:

    http://www.killeraxles.com/bolt_on_portale_e.html

Nothing listed on the page for the Tacoma though. Might want to give them a call.

^Correct, even the Land Cruiser installation involves "adapting" parts intended for the Land Rover / G-class.

For the Tacoma, if you are going to do all the work necessary for a solid axle swap, a Dynatrac portal axle may be a better choice with better spares availability:

As to parts being exposed....most Portal set up's I have seen use wheels that have a backspacing that covers the majority of the Portal Box so they stay pretty protected.

Just gotta find a Toyota Mega Cruiser donor truck.

Portals are amazing because it's as good as lifts get, it's all clearance and sometimes extra gear reduction.

The install video looks legit. You will need to budget for a beefed up Tundra/LC200 steering rack as the kit doesn't include it.

The company website lists an authorized North American dealer in Calgary, Canada: https://thegearshop.ca/products-and-services/ You'd probably want to order through them if you decide to drop $15k on this conversion and have a car payment again (the mod is available for financing through Paybright).

74weld said something about a cheaper manufacturing method to have a less costly version of their portals.

    Thanks y'all.
    I have a ?
So I put a LCE stage 2 clutch(they use clutch masters), 40lb(factory 31-32lb) flywheel, and the metal sleeve over the output shaft, which also increased the size of my throw out bearing. Did I get ANY, IF @ ALL, ANY gear reduction, or any reduction. 1st through 3rd is so much slower.

The heavy flywheel is whats causing it to rev slower

Ok, thanks. I thought it would be good for hauling and pulling is what I heard. The clutch is supposes to be a bit bigger. More surface to grab. Y,N?

heavy flywheels are great for wheeling, makes it slightly harder to stall. Stock clutch has plenty of friction for these motors.

Correct me if I’m wrong but if this is your daily driver won’t it lower your gear ratio so low that you won’t get anywhere fast?
