    Hi everyone,

I am considering getting a portable trunking scanner to put in a 2020-2021 trd pro.
I am with a fire department and am looking for ideas for antenna mount etc.
I also plan on finding a way to stick a cobra 29 in it with roof mounted antenna on the factory roof rack as i do a lot of road trips and have always had a cb.

All thoughts and insight is welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks everyone

They don’t supply you with a radio?

They do provide a portable radio however our department is desperately hurting for funds and as I am fire police we get the oldest of the fleet.
I want to get a scanner so I can keep up on the situations before I arrive on scene as well as when we have big instances so I can monitor for mutual aid as well.
My current radio only works line of sight and upto 1/4 mile.

This thread has some excellent information on mounting electronics in the 3rd Gens.

I found the Victory 4x4 antenna mount to work really well for my scanner. A lot depends on what type of antenna you plan to use. That of course depends on what type of scanner you are looking for and what you want to listen to.
