Here's the issue. I need AC pretty much year round in my truck for 12 hours a day while at work. I don't want to idle for that much as I've had another truck eat a lifter from excess idling. I've seen other guys in full size trucks use a portable stand up AC unit like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DLPUWL2 and vent the exhaust through the cab vents on the back of the cab. I however have a 2021 Tacoma Access Cab SR (no back seat or speakers). My question is how hard is it to remove the cover on the back wall of the cab? Has any done something similar? Have photos of setup? Tips and tricks to pass along?

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Cat shields by CaliRaised. Custom front bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
How are you going to power this? Is there always a power outlet where you park?

3rd gen Tacoma's have a sliding back window. If using this type of AC unit you'd most likely want to make a custom insert that covers the window opening and has 2 holes for the AC intake and supply hoses.

Make a small custom insert that will fit the passenger window for the intake and supply piping.

Hoping to make something I don't have to put up and take down everyday to drive unless necessary

If it's designed/created properly it could be simple to roll down a window and insert. Your other options involve large holes in the cab which will impact resale and may not be any more convenient.

I gotta ask; why does the cab of your truck need to be kept cool while you are at work?
    Just curious, sounds interesting :D
As far as exhausting the heat, maybe make a composite window insert that can be popped in and out.
