Hello! Me again with more questions

I have a questions about porpoising (that undulating motion that you experience when going over bumps with a trailer.)

I had the hitch installed at the dealership. Sway and WD. It was installed on level ground and the truck sits almost perfectly level at its dry weight. As I was pulling the trailer away and getting onto the highway I could feel a motion like it was lugging or pulling on the truck as I went over bumps.

Is that bad for the drive train on the tow vehicle?

Do you think that will go away once the trailer is loaded to its wet weight and is putting more weight on the tongue?

Is that normal for pulling something at it's dry weight? or should I take it back to the dealership to have it adjusted?

If i do take it back to the dealership should it be at it's wet weight?

Finally, to get just the wet weight of the trailer do I just add the rear axle weight and the trailer axle weight and add them?

    Thanks everyone!

Guessing a 4 pin trailer with surge brakes?

Yes I consider it normal, even 500lbs gets rid of that sensation.

I hate towing empty trailers. It's loud and they bounce like crazy.

I’m assuming you haven’t weighed your rig yet, so, if you want to know the accurate weight of your loaded trailer and tow vehicle, you need to weigh the axles (3 seperate weighs) 1. with WD activated, 2. with WD deactivated, and 3. tow vehicle alone (with trailer detached). You’ll get a scale ticket for each weigh and you can determine what your tongue weight is from there. A CAT scale is good for this. You pay $15 or so for the 1st weigh but re-weighs are included.
