Getting this error when I use the Toyota app after I lock the door via the app, “please check the 2021 tacoma rear seat”

    It’s a 2021 taco sport, Canada.
Any ideas? I’ve checked all the seats and can’t figure this out.

Needs blinker fluid, lol. All joking aside, disconnect battery for 10 min and see if it resets.

Most of the newer cars have that message in the dash display or HU. I think it’s mostly to remind you if you have kids or pets.

If a reminder to check to see if you left an infant in the seat whilst you are shopping
or doing something else I can't see that as a bad thing.

Go thru your vehicle settings. You should be able to turn off that message.

That’s weird. I tote around two little kids all the time. I never get that message.

…. even when I leave them in there for a nap (safely of course).

Every year there are several instances of people in a rush leaving their infants in the car in 100+ degree
temps. Happens every year in Arizona and Floriduh too. Recently an older man was left in a retirement-home
shuttle bus for over 18 hours in 110+ degree weather.

Yea, I guess that's where we are at.

No shame. Car naps (safely) are best.

My 2020 US does it too, it’s just a safety feature as mentioned so you don’t leave small pets or humans back there.

hmmm weird, it just started 2 days ago and never before. I have teenagers, so if they can't find their way out of the truck I have bigger problems.

Mine started alerting my phone about it the same time yours did. Maybe an update to the Toyota app? It's bugging the crap out of me because I DO have toddlers and car seats strapped in back there. Don't need the additional panic feeling, even when I'm looking at both of my children when it comes in.

It’s over 100 degrees at the gas pump in a 7-11 and I see a little kid in a truck balling his head off left parked all alone with the windows up. So I go in the store and yell out loud that the person who left the kid in the truck better come out or I’m breaking a window to get the kid out and calling the cops, and this fool in line drops a 12-pack he was buying and leaves the store to get in the truck and leave. Maybe I should’ve just called the cops, that guy didn’t deserve the warning. Some people…:annoyed:

When I was a kid and we parked at the local train station, my mother would always check the rear seat before getting in to see if there was - and I'm not kidding - a HOBO sleeping there! Seemed crazy to me but I guess it's something she experienced at some point in her life.

The running joke in Vermont is that you never leave your car unlocked in August because you might come back and find a basket full of zucchini in the back seat left there by someone whose garden is overflowing with them.
