I have a 2017 OR with chrome bumper and I was thinking about spraying it with black plastidip until I get a new bumper. Has anyone done this already who could post some pics?

Most of my experience with plastidip was making my buddy's POS Honda civic look less shitty and more ricey. Not something I want my badass taco to look like

I scuffed mine with sand paper, primer, and paint. I personally can't get plastidip to work for me, but if you are handy with it go for it

I did it on a 2010 f150. Only prep work I did was wiping bumper off with rubbing alcohol. I never had
any problems with it holding up.

Previous owner did mine, it’s starting to peel around the plastic liner that is on the top half of the bumper and there’s a few chips in it. Still looks better than chrome imo. I happen to be having a smoke, so here’s a pic from 40ft away on my patio lol

You should ask @KTJO 4x4 and take a look at her build thread

Yes. You can definitely remove them without breaking any clips. When I removed mine, I didn’t bother to put the two metal clips back in when I reinstalled them. They aren’t needed. However, I did reinstall all of the black little push fasteners or whatever they are called, even the two located in the back. I would recommend to go thin and slow with your coats on the Bumper End Caps and do like 5 or 6 coats. Mine turned out great and I loved them. However, I recently but the bullet and just purchased the Black OEM Unpainted End Caps. I love how they now match perfectly my Black Fenders. Good Luck!!
    Thanks Man!!

You can get the stock ones off without totally removing the middle part. I would take them off first if it were me. There is a tricky clip in the back that is tough to put back on.

I pulled off the step pad. You don't actually have to pull the whole thing off, just enough to where you can rip off the corner bumpers. With my clumsy ass I figured it would be better.

Do it. I took mine off, wiped em down with brake clean, and sprayed 5 or 6 coats. I reinstalled them without the metal and haven't had a problem. Even after being rear ended.

I masked mine using Plasti-Dip, and it came out great. But I had a colour matching bumper, not chrome.

Looks exactly likes Sean's post above mine.

Have you used the Dupli-Color truck bed liner? If so, how does it compare to the Rust-oleum?
