I posted this in another thread (a-hole parking) when I found this giant divot in my bumper when I came out of the grocery store.

It's in a plastic piece and I wonder how this can be repaired? Can you fill the divot with body filler, sand it and use touch up paint?

I know this is not what you want to hear but it's really not that noticeable. Can you stick your finger behind it and push the divot out?

Don't use body filler. No flex in it. Heat it up, try and mould it back to shape. Plastic weld it and then fill with appropriate plastic repair product with adequate flex. Or you know if you're really picky and want the print texture under paint look still you could replace it

This, i don't sweat any of the small dings and dents anymore. Anything smaller than a baseball isn't worth the hassle IMO.

I found a guy that does repairs at a new car dealer lot. My OCD makes me get the dings fixed. Should be a cheap repair.

    Thanks!

As for the others who say to leave it - I may. Right now I see a giant gouge every time I look at the truck but one of these days I'll get over it and it won't bother me. Yes it's a truck but it's still new to me, I just spent a boat load of money on it and it is in such good shape I hate to have senseless crap like this happen.

in my old 98 a month after I bought it an alternator fell out of a ford taurus on the freeway in front of me.. smashed my grille, hood and windshield.. this shit happens and yes its just a small dent on your bumper but it could always be worse. that incident cost me close to $500 out of pocket.

3M flexible parts repair might work. Melting shavings of a similar flexible ABS material in acetone until it's a putty may also work.

It cost about $500 or less just got quote for something similar for repair and repaint. If you think it worth that cost have it fixed or if not I would live with it. I don't mind the dent and scratches in my 2015 but my problem was more complicated than just the bumper like Taco me elmo had a highway incident windshield damage and grill damage too work pending.

    Plate bumper.

I'm going that route soon. My truck has been hit 3 times now in less than a year and a half of ownership.
