I plastdipped mine a few years ago. Not factory wheels but gives you an idea. I used bronze gold with copper metalizer.FB_IMG_1534377133459.jpg FB_IMG_1534377122145.jpg FB_IMG_1534377143285.jpg FB_IMG_1534377150432.jpg

It’s not that the gold looked bad with one coat, I just think the bronze complements your Barcelona red better. Not too sure how gold would look on @BakingEggs cement either

Wish I would have seen this before I bought my OR trd wheel set and then sold the steelie set. Copper,Gold, Bronze makes a good contrast on the Barcelona. You sir have done agood job.

Thanks man! For best results, the majority of my time was spent simply prepping (getting the wheels really clean, wet sanding (400 grit), masking and wiping down with acetone). I used duplicolor rattle can bronze wheel paint p/n: HWP105 and the duplicolor matte clearcoat p/n:HWP106. Light coats and not rushing it netted pretty good results.

I did this quite a while back so I can't remember exactly how many I used. I painted both sides as well as the center caps. If I was to guess, it was probably 1.75 to 2 cans of bronze and 1 can of clear per wheel. I'd probably snag a plus 1 just in case and for touch ups if ever needed.

Damn... Thank you for the compliment. I painted them this past weekend and mounted them on Monday, truck and tires still need a wash but even so I'm very happy with the results. I used Duplicolor Wheel spray paint, can't recommend it enough. FJ steel wheels can also be found relatively cheap if you ever feel the itch for some steel wheels.

Thank you once more for your kind words.

Shit, I bought 2 cases, used 2 cans of paint total. I did primer as well so maybe that helped but I was surprised with how much coverage I was getting out of each can.

I’ve been really been considering plastidipping my wheels bronze or gold. I’ve got this screenshot on my phone I keep looking at. B142852A-D512-4414-8728-058095A89D48.jpg
    I really dig this color.

I saw they added those colors a few months ago, would be interesting to see how it turns out! I think Bronze for sure!
