Can anyone tell me how long the wire is for the mic?

My thought is to run the wire up the A pilar, through the headliner and mount it so it fits flush in the plastic piece between the 2 map lights, using a rubber grommet or something.

Any opinions of wether or not this is a good idea?

can't remember the exact ft...but it is pretty long. i ran my dads from the head unit to the visor. through the dash and up the a pillar. if it worked on a f-250 with lots of slack left...it should work for your tacoma

not sure either, it is long, and if its not long enough you can extend it, its a mini stereo connector.

Mine came today, and of course i immediately installed it :D

I have a couple questions, if anyone out there can help me out

-Do i need to conned the long green wire, that says it goes to the the power wire on the Parking brake? If so, where id the wire for me to tap it to?

-How do i get it to stay 1 color, and scan through all the color options?

    Thanks!

it says parking brake power wire? My harness had a long light green wire which I connected together to the radio ground wire (bypassing) but I don't remember if it was marked as parking brake power. Check the manual to confirm if its a parking brake power (+12V) or ground. If it says parking brake ground then you can connect it to the radio ground wire, if it says parking brake power (+12V) then they most have change something to avoid bypassing.

Forget what I said above, go ahead and connect the long light green wire to ground. It'll work. My wire also said (brake power) just checked my manual.

Only tried once, but i was able to do both of those things......I'll try again when i leave work to be sure.

So if i find that i am missing some functions, can i just tap that wire to the ground wire? I came with a tap on the end of it, and says to tap in to the power wire on the emergency brake.

Yes you can tap the ground wire.

Better yet, there is some place in the menu were it says if the emergency brake is on or off. If it appears as emergency brake on, then you are good to go.

So i looked through the menu and saw that it said the emergency brake was off, and then noticed that when i was moving the dial pad was disabled, and when i was stopped it would work.

I grounded the log green wire and the dial pad works full time now!!
Thanks for your help!! Once i figure out how to give rep, there will be some coming your way!
