Good luck! If this thing is still $256 on Amazon, I'd get it IMMEDIATELY!

That's $255.90 more than what's in my wallet right now. :(

Nice! I want to get the same one but I was worried Metra was just flat silver or black.

The only metra kit I can find on Amazon is the black one :notsure:

IIRC, there is an option in the settings where you can set it to one specific color. I think one of the options is scrolling or something similar where it cycles through all of the colors.

Metra makes both, so just look around! I'll go mess with the light settings now... :p

For using a custom color to match the dash press and hold SRC button until all sound comes off, then press the volume knob for a few seconds and initial settings will appear, select illumination color, change from SCAN to CUSTOM. It will use the custom color saved on the SD card.

Those using a custom color what RGB numbers did you use? I don't remember the one I made but it matches the orange of the Clock.

I found the silver textured here at Best Buy for about $35.

EDIT: I just read on the Amazon link that it says Gray in the name of the product though they have the picture of the gray one. I'm assuming you got this one correct?

Also, do all of your speakers still work? I can only find an adapter for 4 speakers instead of the 6 we have.

For those looking where to mount the mic, this is where I mounted it:

I drilled a hole a little bigger than the mic diameter, then inserted a rubber gromet (the kind of gromets used to pass wires trough the firewall) then pushed the mic from inside out (takes some time and patience to get it right). Makes it look factory and had no problem with the location, everyone hears me clearly and most were unable to tell I was speaking from a mic. They can hear me clearly even from the passenger seat.

    Great Location

Do you remember where you got the grommet at?

pepboys or any auto parts store, they come in a package of different sizes, use the one that fits tightly over the mic (tightly enough that the grommet stretches a little bit when you push the mic in), you will need to do alot of dremelling to the switch blank and may also need to cut the back of the grommet to be able to insert it to the switch blank.

Holy crap. Nice work. I may do the same thing but above the head unit when I get mine.

    Once again, superb work

I've got another quick question Derek, do all of your speakers (tweeters mainly) still work? I can only find an adapter for 4 speakers instead of the 6 we have.

I know the tweeters are somewhat pointless, but I'd like to have them until I get new speakers.
