    Hi all,

I just picked up the Pioneer AppRadio4 and I'm trying to install it in my 2013 Tacoma. It's in there and working great, but I can't get the Metra trim panel to fit properly. The Pioneer is mounted as far back as possible but the trim panel will not clip in at both the top and bottom. I've seen the same trim panel used with the AppRadio3 with no issues.

    Any ideas folks?

I have the same problem with my Pioneer AVIC8000NEX. I have not gotten back to it yet, but I am thinking that I did not adjust the mount properly when I affixed it to the HU. There is not a lot of room to install an Aftermarket HU in the 2nd gen. I am working another problem about which I am gonna post that will more than likely require me to remove the HU again, and when I do, I plan on loosening the screws and sliding the mount a bit further forward, if I can. Right now, mine is bowing away from the HU where the trim piece is supposed to snap into place. By moving the mount forward a bit, it should allow for the mount to bend a bit more toward the HU so the trim ring can properly snap into place. Hope this helps.

Hey there! I just picked up the same head unit and I also have a 2013. I'm going to self install and I was wondering what considerations need to be made to integrate the unit with the factory mic for bluetooth and the steering wheel controls. That's about the only thing I'm really concerned about.

Also, did you have to buy a special trim kit to work with this? I'm assuming that there needs to be some sort of trim kit to go around this thing.

    Thanks!
