Had bought the 3M Eraser wheel a couple of weeks ago and finally put it to use. I was really looking forward to getting rid of the ridiculous pinstripes that were on the truck when I bought it 2 years ago.

I worked on a small section of stripe just to the rear of the rear door until I was concerned I might damage the finish. With the exception of a couple of small scratches, it looked like there was none of the stripe removed at all. Is it possible that it's painted on rather than taped on?

Tape or paint - really? Apply heat(hair dryer or heat gun) to the stripe and use your fingernail to scrape it a bit. If it's tape it will lift off, if not you will need your eraser wheel. Caveat: if it's been on for a couple of years,(paint or tape) depending on the color of your truck, you might end up with a "fade shadow".

It's tape. I took mine off last month. Took me a solid week scraping about an hour each night to get that shit off. You can see a shadow from where it was but most people don't notice. I notice because I know it was there but it looks much better without them. I used a hair dryer and some adhesive remover to scrape it off.

You guys are too funny. A little background......

Of course, I saw the pinstripe when I first bought the truck and, not caring for it, immediately dismissed it and spent the last two years ignoring it. Assuming it was tape I attempted to remove it. That's when I realized it was paint instead.

Having said that, if I have a question to ask, I'll ask it. It either gets answered or it doesn't.
