Pics 2024 TRD OR

Greeting all, so, my dealership had the 2024 TRD OR in stock and I wanted to preview it because I am considering the TRD Pro, which is still unknown on arrival probably anywhere between late April to June. Anyways, none the less, I took it out for a road test although this OR did not have hybrid engine. It was the i-Force 2.4L 4cyl turbocharged 8-spd Automatic.

Now, I was quite impressed with the engine while driving compared to my last Tacomas which were the 2009 and 2018. It drove like a V6 and never like a 4cyl as some may think. Great pick up speed during merging on the freeway, no problem. Surface street there was a decent hill that I drove up and no lagging, step on the gas and the power is there with ease acceleration and no hard shifting as the speeds increase.

I just wanted to see it and drive it along with taking a bunch of photos. Hopefully, all these pics give you all a preview for those who have not seen before.

I didn't play around with the screen as this wasn't the truck I was interested in, but just know the PRO vs OR multimedia screen will be bigger. As far as the back seat, behind the back seat there is no storage on the left rear as the older gens due to a JBL speaker box being set in place. Although, directly under the rear passengers seat there is a lot more storage space. Now, I'm 5'10, 180 lbs. and left the driver seat to my adjustment then sat in the left rear seat. Head room is ok for me, seat wise in the seat itself seems more comfortable than that of my 2018 I had. My knees come close to pressing against the driver's seat, but it wasn't uncomfortable.

They have a $4995 markup listed on the website for this truck. More on others. I really hope people use their heads on the price of these trucks.

 

Last week, they had dealership fee $9,995.00 ….then today, I just happened to be checking around and now it’s half….i just wanted to test drive it

 

I don't know why they have to put these stupid steps on every truck. Are pickup drivers all so short that they need a boost to get into the cab?

 

50k for a off road …that is bonkers … I’m not that stupid to pay that price lol.. that interior is not worth that price looks cheap . Might as well slap a ford badge on it .

 

It seems the bed's that are untextured like the preproduction models shown on youtube are different than the beds that come with spray-bedliners. In the photos that OP has shown here, the word Tacoma isn't embossed into the bed near the cab like it is on mine.

 

thanks for the write-up and photos. i like the grill, that's about it. my next truck won't be a Gen4 tacoma.

 

Is Denios still packed on the weekends? My folks live off PFE and we used to go there a lot, I miss that place. Thank you for all the great photos!

If I remember correctly the hybrids won’t have the rear under seat storage as that’s where the battery pack is? Thanks for sharing. I too think the interior looks cheap.

 

51k before TTL and you get to stare at the base HU.

Nope.

 

This truck is just not equipped with the upgraded HU. It could be optioned with the upgrade.

 

It’s not worth the upgrade and if you want to upgrade many options I would recommend going with the Pro

 

Upgraded HU is the next upgrade package up, it costs an additional $720 lol.



We don't even know the price of the Pro yet.

yes, without the 5K package you don't get tires

 

That’s weird. Is the Tacoma logo something they glue or screw on there before spraying the bed liner on?
