Might need to pull a trailer soon.
So I done lifted my shit. Fucked it up right?

I have a hitch adapter from U-Haul. Walked in and the guy at the counter was like "WHAT YA NEED IS THIS ONE" 2 3/4" or some shit
Stowed in the storage compartment, haven't used it since I last moved; had less lift back then.

But sir it has x lift and x higher bumper
    "DONT MATTER"

Well sir I fucking doubt it
And on top of that now guess what
I've got an even higher bumper, and higher lift (yeehaw)

Look I get it. There's guides online. I will look at them. And potentially implement them.
But I am asking y'all because:
    1. You are the 2ND GEN TACOMA EXPERTS
    2. Surely have also faced this dillemma

but yeah, how do you figure out what adapter to stick in the hitch
    to pull a U-Haul trailer properly/level
so that you don't have an adapter too short where the trailer hooks up tall and is all tilted upwards...

Could buy a nice adjustable hitch, but they are $$$.

How high is your trucks hitch? Measure from inside bottom of hitch to ground.

    I'll measure and report back.
Have seen those adjustable hitches but yeah if they're $$$ then it costs more than a one size
the generic one at U-Haul they recommend for most trucks was only like $24

I use a 3" or a 6" drop hitch, depending on which trailer I'm pulling. I have 3.5" lift in rear, heavy duty springs which don't sag much (if at all) under load. I also have air bags for the heavy stuff.

If I needed to tow a UHAUL trailer, I am sure I would need the 6" drop to have it level.

Observe the diagram for reference. I recently rented a 6x12 uhaul and found that their website says their stuff has about an 18" coupler height. Measure your receiver height as shown in the diagram above (ground to the top of the interior of the square). Mine is 19.5", So for me 19.5" - 18" = 1.5" drop. I used a 2" drop one I already had and sat just a hair low, so this method shows to be accurate. For you, make your measurement and then subtract 18. If you have to choose between the ball being 0.5" low or 0.5" high, go 0.5" high.
